*SERENA*

"Right this way, you will be in room three." The nurse tells me as she directs me to the right room. "Okay, go ahead and strip down. There's a gown sitting on the table for you, the doctor will be with you shortly."

I change into the flimsy hospital gown as I wait. These appointments are always awkward. If I'm correct in my assumptions, I'm not exactly sure what it will mean for us. How will the boys react? Will Matthias be happy? He was so excited when the boys were born, but he's been in such a weird mood lately...

Doctor Martinez walks in with a clipboard interrupting my thoughts.

"Hello Serena, so I see here that you believe you might be pregnant again?"

"Yes, I do."

"Okay, well let's get you up on the table and have a look. Hmmm... Seems you found out pretty early this time. You look to be only eight weeks along. Okay, so you know how this works. Come in for your regular check-ups and let me know if something doesn't seem right. We don't want a repeat of the first time.

The first time, right. This is actually my third pregnancy. I had a miscarriage before the boys were born. It's also the reason why I moved in with Matthias when I did. Apparently my parents don't approve of a lot of things, and I being pregnant was one of them. Never mind I lost the baby, they didn't care. I sigh; the twins will never get to know my family.

"I have to say though," the doctor continues. "Since your last pregnancy was successful, the chance of this one working out looks good."

"Thank you doctor."

"Remember to keep your appointment. I'll see you next month."

"Will do."

I leave the office and pull out my phone; I think, I'll call my best friend and tell her the news. I dial her number as I walk to a restaurant just down the street.

"Hello."

"Oh hi Serena, how'd the appointment go? Oh wait, hold on a second will you?" I hear her son Peter calling for her in the background.

"Peter, mamma's on the phone."

"But, but I wanna go see Elijah mamma."

"Oh sweetie, Elijah’s with his grandparents right now. I'm sure his mom won't mind if he stays over tonight, I'll ask her. Now why don't you go play so mommy can talk?" I laugh, Peter is so attached to Elijah it's cute.

"Sorry about that Serena."

"Don't worry about it, I have two of them. I know how it is. Hey, remember what you told me when I found out about the twins?"

She laughs "yeah, I told you at least one needed to be a girl so Peter could have a girlfriend. So enough about that, what'd the doctor say!"

"She said I am eight weeks pregnant."

"Congratulations! When are you going to tell Matthias?"

"I don't know, probably not till tonight, or I might just wait until he tells me what's...."

I trail off as I look around the restaurant and see a couple of guys who look to be sitting a little close. That looks like....

"Serena?"

"I'm going to have to go Jamie. I'll call you later about bringing the boys by."

I say as I walk over to the table. It is him.

"Matthias?"

*MATTHIAS*

I open the door to Nico's apartment. Yes, I have my own key.

"Nico, I'm here! Are you ready to leave?"

We aren't going anywhere fancy, but I guess he expected that. I just got off work, so I'm still in my work clothes.

He comes out of his bedroom and greets me with a kiss. "Hey sexy, let's get going!" He's practically jumping up and down in excitement.

Under different circumstances Serena would love him. He's so bubbly and bouncy, not to mention she's a huge supporter of the LGBT community. He'd have his own personal fan girl. I sigh, too bad when and if she meets him it probably won't be on good terms. We arrive at the restaurant and take a seat.

"So how has your day gone so far?"

"Good, especially now that I get to see you." God, I will never get over how cute he is when he blushes. I'm supposed to go back to work later, but I'll wait to tell him that. No need to ruin our date.

"Really? Yay! I love you so much, but what about Serena?"

I sigh; he really had to bring her up now. Don't get me wrong I love her too, and probably always will. It's just I feel so guilty for what I've been doing to her. She deserves better, but at this point I don't know what'd I do if I had to choose between the two of them.

"What about her?" I raise an eyebrow at him.

"You know what! You need to talk to her soon."

"We've been over this Nico."

"Yeah, well you don't think it's difficult for me too? You love her too, and she's been around a lot longer than me. Not to mention your boys. I'm afraid that once you tell her, you'll decide to drop me and stick with her. Or she'll leave you, and you stay with me just because you can't have her."

"Nico..."

He holds up a hand to stop me. "That doesn't change the fact that she needs to know. Please?” He's pouting. He knows I can't resist it when he pouts.

"Okay, I'll think about it. Now can we stop talking about Serena? This is our date."

"Okay!" He's chirpy and all smiles again, I don't know how he does it. "So what are we doing later?" He asks me while he practically tries to climb in my lap.

I cringe, thinking about how I have to go back in a couple of hours. "Actually..."

I'm interrupted as someone stops by our table.

"Matthias?"

Uh oh. I know that voice. Could this date get any worse?
