It was going on eight and Jack was just pulling up to the front of my house. He put his car in park while I turned to him. "I had a really good time, thank you." I smiled and he gave me a questioning look.

"This sounds so crazy, but you just made me remember how I'm supposed to feel. I don't know, I guess isolating yourself for a year isn't the best."

He smiled and brushed hair out of my face. "Do you want to go out again some time?" His warm eyes looked at me.

"I'd love that." I leaned over the seat to hug him and placed a gentle kiss on his cheek. His cheeks hinted a slight pink as he turned to face the wheel, hiding a smile.

We parted ways and I walked up to our grand entrance. When I opened the door I looked in the living room and saw Hayes. "Thought you were gonna be home around 7."

"Well I was," I paused to check the time. "but I texted Cam that I'd be home a little later." He nodded and I walked over to sit next to him. "Where's your girl?"

"Left like two hours ago, I guess she's mad at me." I nodded. "Why?" I asked and he shrugged. "She was yelling about you and then I came back with your lipstick on my cheek and she's just mad."

I was scrolling through my notifications while talking to him. "That's extra, she knows we're just friends, right?" He paused with a long breath and nodded.

"She thinks I like you."

I stood up and began to walk to the main stairs. "Well, I thought you liked me too, so." He looked over at me as I shrugged and walked upstairs. I went into my room and texted Cameron that I wanted to talk to him.

After a few minutes he came in and sat at the edge of my bed. I was laying down and tossing a squishy stress ball in the air. "What's going on?" He asked, smiling.

"What do you think of Jack?"

"I think he's a good guy," He stopped. "Why?"

"So I'm gonna tell you about what happened tonight, just remember I'm gonna be 16 in like four days." he nodded and I began to whisper, knowing that Hayes' room was next to mine.

"Jack and I were just talking and we went to eat and everything. Then I just started noticing little things about him that I liked and habits that I found cute. We always had a conversation and I don't know it felt different."

He nodded once again and I continued. "Then after dinner we went to this place he knew to watch the sunset. Cliche, I know." Cameron laughed before I covered his mouth, smiling.

"But then, like, we were sitting in silence and I had my head on his shoulder. We sorta looked at each other and we kissed and I'm confused and I think I like him, but I don't know." I rambled on and on.

He kinda sat there for a minute or two thinking. "What about Hayes?"

"I'm always going to like him, I know that. He's busy with Katia."

"I'm gonna ask you something, be honest with me." I nodded. "Are you fucking with Gilinsky to make Hayes jealous?"

"At first I figured, Jack is attractive, let's go out with him and see how Hayes reacts. Although, now I genuinely think going out with him tonight made me realize all his great features and actually start to like him."

"If thats how you feel, then go for it. I'll support you, but he's gonna be 18 in three months. I'm not saying 16 and 18 are bad, I'm just saying to remember." I nodded and thanked him.

"Also this friday, 3 days, it's Hayes birthday. We're throwing you both a huge party that night, opening the pool and everything. Pretend like you don't know." He smiled and left my room.

I changed into a sports-bra and baggy sweatpants I took from Hayes so long ago. Also putting on fuzzy socks before I threw my hair in a bun and washed all my makeup off. It was now 9:45 and I was relaxing on my bed while watching youtube videos, then there was a knock on my door.

Hayes walked in so I paused the video and smiled. "What up?" I asked while I sat up and he sat on my bed. He shrugged and I looked up at him. "You doing okay?"

"Can I ask you something?" He said, I nodded and closed my laptop lid. "What makes him so special?"

"I don't know."

He slowly nodded, then asked another. "Do you ever see us happening again?"

"I don't know," I paused but continued. "I've been telling everyone, even Jack, I'm always going to have feelings for you. I don't know why, but I will. Though you're moved on and it's okay."

He paused for a long time.

"Would it be wrong if I kissed you?"

I smiled faintly, looking down and back up. "Probably."

Despite my answer, Hayes leaned in and pressed his lips onto mine. Shortly after, he pulled away and apologized.

"It's okay, good last one, right?" He looked up at me and smiled with a small chuckle. "I'm gonna go to bed." I patted his back and he left my room, turning off my light.

I threw my head back and rubbed my face. I compared him and Gilinsky, although, comparing them made me miss Jack.

Now I'm wondering why I kissed him.
