“Good Morning beautiful!” I heard Red’s voice. I opened my eyes. The sun was in the west and nearly touching the mountain tops. Then I looked next to me and almost screamed. There was a creature laying in front of me with wide eyes. It was like a dwarf with long fingers. It started twirling them in its long red hair.
“Hi!” It said. It smiled showing rows of long, white, gleaming, pointed, teeth. It was kind of cute, besides the teeth of course. It studied me with undying curiosity.
“Wow, your ugly,” It said. It scampered up to me, while Red said, “Jamie, this is Tanori. She is an Audrina.
Tanori was, at the moment, in my face and looking at me with great interest. She started saying things I didn’t know. It was like a whole new language. Strangely, it was soothing and made me relax.
“She is uglier than you told me,” Tanori said in English, “You said her face was brighter than the moon and her hair as fair as the sky above.” Red blushed and looked at his toes. I smiled and got to my knees. Even though I had just been called ugly I was scared and curious. I was in a strange place with strange creatures around me, who wouldn’t be?
“Red, how did we get here? Where are the school and the fire? Where is it all?” I asked.
He was about to answer when there was high pitched laughter not too far away. Red and Tanori looked at each other with wild eyes.
“Oh Shiski! We’d better go. She’s coming!” Tanori cried while bouncing onto the rock nearby. She did a little jig and was beckoning us to come with her.
“Can you walk?” Red asked. I shrugged. Swiftly, he scooped me up in his arms. He nodded to Tanori. She sighed and started to chant something. It sounded almost like singing. The words were indescribable as she chanted in an unknown language. She did the chant with her eyes closed and her hands pointing to me. The trees started swaying. The laughter sounded closer and Tanori chanted quicker. Suddenly, out of the woods came a woman, clad in a white dress. The dress hung loosely from her shoulders and flowed to where her feet should have been. Wait, she had no feet! She was hovering above the ground. She smiled again and held her arms out to me. Her face was prominent and graceful. She had pointed ears, and she beckoned to me. She was beautiful, and I wanted to go with her. She murmured something I didn’t hear. That’s when I blacked out.
My dreams were pretty interesting. I saw a creature’s eyes peering at me from the darkness. They were a piercing green and I felt as though they were pulling me towards them. I heard evil laughter and a scream that stabbed through the darkness. Then light filled the space. A cloaked figure sat on a throne. It looked larger than a man, and had more prominent features than anyone I had ever seen. The room was large and I couldn’t see the ceiling. The figure pointed at me
“You will come to me,” The figure said. It stood and walked toward the spot where I was shaking. A hand reached out from under the cloak and grabbed at me. I screamed.
“Jamie! Wake up Jamie. You’re going to be fine. It’s okay.” Red was cradling me in his arms and stroking my hair. I was drenched in sweat and I trembled as he rocked me back and forth. I let him hold me for a while until I realized we were in a new place. I pushed away from Red and sat on the wood floor next to him. There was a center pillar in the middle of the floor and leaves as walls. I felt really high up. Nothing mattered because I wanted answers.
“Where are we now? And where is that woman? You need to explain it all to me right now Redrigo Perez! There are green bunnies and Audrinas and you can chant to make me sleep. What is going on here?” I was unhappy and freaked out. If he didn’t tell me he was in trouble.
“Jamie calm down! You are in my old world, before I came to yours 100 years ago. That woman was someone I hope you never have to see again. She is evil, and only wants to do you harm. Now be quiet, someone could hear us!” He was angry with me, for the first time he was angry at me. I turned my back to him and thought about what he had said. Wait, 100 years!
“What do you mean 100 years?” I said turning quickly around. There was no one there to answer my question. I was completely alone.
