Devon's POV.

“A kid huh? Well you got that going for ya. Who's the mother?”

“Beautiful and lovely stayce, looks just like her. But she's got my eyes and the same hair color.” I said as I took a sip of my coffee Mike made for me. Mike and I have been friends for a while now. I'm still not really happy with his decision to become alpha of the local pack after one of his enemies took out half of the pack.

“Speaking of Stayce I haven't seen her around in a long time.” Mike said while taking a drink from his coke.

His pack members weren't to fond of my visit. I can't blame them though as I mentioned before, Mike is one of the older werewolfs and he has enemies. One less after he took down the one who attacked this pack. I don't quite remember his name but well, Mike offered to lead the pack.

If I know Mike well enough he's just waiting for someone who has the guts to challenge him for the alpha position. When someone does have the guts to face this fierce and strong werewolf he'd probably test the lad and if he's good enough he will hand over the alpha position and roam the world again as he did before he 'settled down'.

“I've been looking for her for a while. She said I was a keeper, you know. So I thought she'd stay by my side but one morning she was just gone. I tracked her down to the airport and that's where I lost her scent. I've been looking for her since. But now I have a bigger reason to find her. She wasn't with our daughter and Miria didn't even seem to know anything about her.” Mike choked a little on his coke as I said my daughters name and I glared at him.

“Miria? From the Dark Forest pack?” He looked somewhat suprised but so was I.

“Yea, you know her?” I asked him crossing my arms.

“Yea I do, she usually joined alpha Jackson to the yearly meeting of the alpha's of the US. She and Conner sure made those meetings interesting. She always had somthing diffrent about her but I would have never though she was one of us.” He had his hand on his chin and a smirk on his lips. He seemed to be remembering some things that happened before.

“Interesting? Do tell and tell me about this 'Conner'. Is he a good lad?” It seems like Mike knows her better than I do, I hope he might be able to tell me a little about her.

“Well Jackson found the little thing in the woods covered in blood and dirt, he took her in and cared for her. At least that's what I've heard.”

“No Stayce?” I asked trying to figure out what had happened. Stayce must have stayed within the states and never left the country as I had suspected she did. Darn it I should have looked more for her and not have been so carefree.

“The blood wasn't Miria's but there was nothing more to be found. Jackson took her under his wing as his own. Conner is what, two years older than her I think. He's Jackson's son. First time I met the crazy duo.” He chuckled at himself.

“Ow they were quite the handfull. They somehow managed to hide in Jacksons car when he came to the meeting. When he got there he found the two little lads having an innocent smile on their faces. The other alpha's weren't so glad at seeing the two little kids but I thought it would be amusing. The two didn't show any fear toward me and since I was the 'youngest' looking alpha around they came to me.”

“That smirk on your face betrays you Mike, what did you make them do?”

“Let's just say they made sure it was a very fun meeting. Jackson took them with him again each year. The other alpha's also took their kids, but only if they wanted. We talked about rules, borders, rogues and whatnot while the kids made sure we got distracted once in a while.” I smiled as I pictured it in my mind.
