Later that night, Cabaletta's dad, Mr. Liron, came home in a rush. He ran into the house, unlocking the door after searching for the right key. He ran up the stairs and knocked on his daughter's door. He heard a sniffle and a voice say "come in". He slowly opened the door and looked in. He saw Cabaletta sitting on her bed, mostly covered up. Mr. Liron looked at her with a worried look in his eyes. He walked over and sat on the edge of his daughter's bed. He put his hand on the part of the blanket that covered her back. He felt her tremble and looked away. "I know it's hard," he started,"but we can get through this." Cabaletta snap her head up and glared at her father. She could feel anger coursing through her. She felt her heart beat speed up. "You don't know anything," she yelled," you didn't love her anyways!" Her father pulled back in surprise. "I loved her very much," he said, trying to stay calm,"she was the best thing that has ever happened to me!" Cabaletta sat up. "What about Carry? She's who you've been with," Cabaletta said accusingly, "you've had affairs with her!" Cabaletta jumped up and ran to her window. She started to pull on the locks to unlock it when she felt a tug on her dress. She turned to her father, who was steaming. He pulled so hard that she fell. She let out a cry of shock and kicked him. He let go of her dress and held his nose. He walked to her window and did something to the locks. When he finished, he pulled on the locks and they didn't move at all. He then turned to Cabaletta. "How did you find out?!"he yelled. Cabaletta stood up and ran to her door, ignoring his question. She quickly turned the doorknob and ran out the room. She took the stairs, 3 at a time as she seemed to fly through the air. She ran out the house and hid in a bush. She felt tears run down her cheeks as she held in a sob. She sat there until morning. Her father walked out the door, looking incredibly angry. She tried to curl up into a ball as he walked past her. He got in his car and drove off, leaving Cabaletta alone. She ran in the house to get ready for school. She felt like she had something to prove now. She would finish what she started and make her mother proud.
