Cabaletta waited for the flames to consume her, starting to cry and shutting her eyes tight. She felt something wipe away her tears, making her freeze. She opened her eyes to see the tall man, on of his tentacles moving away from her face. She looked around to see the flames in a circle. She took a step back in horror. The flames had already burnt the bottom of her dress, and its pocket. The man held out his hand. She went closer to him, expecting a calm to wash over her, but instead, she felt something new. She felt as if everything was her enemy...everything but him. She knew this was very very bad. I'm going mad! Oh god, she thought. She reached out her hand and took the hand of the tall man. She somehow knew his name was Slenderman. A guy who has done this before. She stared at his non-existing face. "Do it," she murmured closing her eyes, "take away my sanity...I don't need it anyway." She felt something in her snap, she felt the heat of the fire closing in on her, she felt...different. She opened her eyes and she was burning. She couldn't feel it though, her body was numb. She stumbled and fell fight into the flames. She crawled back out, knowing she would die if she didn't. She stood up, and looked around. She was still surrounded by fire, but it wasn't a circle anymore. There are two ways out, she thought, die or run through and suffer some burns. She decided to go with the second choice. She took a deep breath, but instantly regretted it because she just inhaled a lot of smoke. She got in position and counted. 1, it's just a little fire. 2, you just have to be fast. 3. She took off, hoping she wouldn't get badly burned. She fell a few times before reaching the end, but she made it. She stood there, gasping. "I...I did it," she gasped. She stood up and started towards the camp she and Aika made. After what seemed to be about an hour, she made it. She went into her tent, making sure Aika, who was present, didn't see her. She grabbed her flute and moved to the fire. Aika was in her tent, getting ready to sleep. Cabaletta scowled. Must be nice, not almost dying. Wonder how she would feel if I changed that... or made it worse, she thought. She put her flute over the fire and let it get the where she could shape it. She placed the edge on a rock and hit it, making the edge flatter. She did this until she had made it like a knife. She picked up her flute and began to play. Her melody was enchanting. She closed her eyes and thought of being behind Aika. When she opened them, she was. Aika was staring at her, in a trance. Cabaletta stopped, snapping Aika out of her little daydream. "C-Cabaletta?! You're ok," she said happily. Then her face changes as she notice the look Cabaletta had in her eyes. "I'm Masque," Cabaletta whispered, getting behind Aika, "Masque...hmm... Masque Murder." Masque took her flute and jammed it into her old friends side. "Don't worry," she said as Aika screamed in pain, "I'm just fixing the melody of life. Now dear, be still." She took her flute out of the girls side and stabbed Aika again. Aika let out another bloodcurdling scream. She soon became quiet and Masque took out the flute. The knife like edge was covered in blood. She stared at it and stood up. "It's my destiny to fix this messed up rhythm," she said to no one," and everyone will play along."
