I have exactly 20 minutes before the social hour starts. I have my blue FFA Jacket and Skirt. I plug my curling iron into the school's bathroom wall. My brunette hair is only medium length, so it doesn't take me that long to curl it. While the iron was warming up, I applied a thin layer of eyeliner on the bottom lid, and mascara on the top. Good thing I had cover-up, because my pimples are working up at this time of the month. (if you know what I mean!)
I have all my gear packed up, and I look decent! I take a deep breath, walk out of the bathroom, and head over to the Ag-Hallway. The sunshine is glaring through the glass door at the very end of the hallway. It is too bright to see the other people in the hallway that are heading for the FFA room. The only person that I see looks like a grown woman. I don't see any FFA blue on her, so maybe she is a special guest! The only other feature that I can pick out of her, is long blonde hair. I can't wait to meet her!
Outside of the FFA door, I sign in my name. We also have to write down the number of guests we brought. Next to my name, I put the number 1. My "cousin" is coming in a few minutes. When I checked my phone a few minutes, he texted me to say that he would be a few minutes late. He's technically my cousin, he is our family friends' son. His name is Ryan, he is 20, I call him my cousin, because we did everything together as we were growing up! And he also is into this FFA stuff, because he grew up on a farm too! I thought he would be the perfect guest!
I walk through the doors, and I see my FFA advisor, Ms. Reed talking to a group of people that don't look familiar to me. There is one person that does look a little familiar, she was the girl that I saw walking in the doors.
Ms. Reed turned around and starting talking to me. "Hi Melissa! Thanks for coming! I would like you to meet the special guest that I brought for everyone to meet!"
The girl with the blonde hair turned around.
