Lily Luna Branches Out

Uh Oh

Lily was walking along the corridor one cold day in late November when her cousin Roxane came running up.

"Slytherin girl!" She called.

Lily ignored her until Roxane called her name.

"What?" She rolled her eyes.

"I thought you'd would appreciate it if someone told you that Minnie died. She started having more seizures and one day the seizure was so bad her tiny little brain gave up working. She died three days ago. I would have told you immediately but I didn't have a chance until now."

"Thanks you for telling me." Lily held back the wave of emotions sweeping through her.

"See ya around snake." Roxane left.

Lily rushed to her room, thankful it was a Saturday. She ran through the common room ignoring her friends calling her name. Lily slammed her door and flings herself onto the bed that had an L shaped pillow on it. She sobbed into the green silk comforter. First her brothers disowned her, then her cousins and then her parent and now her baby sister had died. She rummaged through her drawer until she found the last letter her parents had sent her. It said;

Lily,

You may stay with us during holidays and summer break. However your brothers were right in saying that they don't have a sister named Lily Luna. We don't need the tarnish our blood with one of Voldemort's understudies.

Me and Mrs Potter.

A knock interrupted Lily's thoughts.

"Lily, may I come in?" Lola asked gently from the other side of the door.

"Sure." Lily called without looking up from the letter. She hadn't told her friends about it but no was as good a time as any.

Lola came over to the bed and picked up Lily's brush from the nightstand and began to comb out Lily's tresses that were a sad blue color. Neither of them spoke. Lola just hummed as she brushed the blue hair until it shone. She then braided it and tied off the braid with a black hair tie. She just hummed and stroked Lily's back while she cried. After Lily had calmed down again Lola spoke up, "What happened Princess?"

Lily managed to tell the whole story to her friend before crying some more. Lily eventually cried herself to sleep, and Lola stayed with her until she was dreaming.
