Raegan waited for two more hours before deciding to call Justin himself. The phone rang and rang and rang but Justin didn't answer. Raegan's pulse rose and he tried again. Ring ring ring ring. Silence.
Raegan's mom: RAEGAN! Come here honey and look at the news!
Raegan sprinted down the steps and watched as the cameraman on the tv was at the airport, focusing his camera on a certain plane that had gone down in the Mississippi River. A plane that Raegan watched take off. A plane that Justin had gotten onto. He stopped breathing and stumbled to the couch. Justin would be ok. He would be one of the survivors, I know it. Raegan thought quietly, chewing his nails as the reporter continued.
Reporter: What we have here folks is a very tragic scene. This plane behind me had just taken off from Baltimore, Maryland and was on its way to Minneapolis. But something went wrong and the planes engine caught fire, sending it crashing to the ground. I am just reviving word that...
Raegan's mom turned up the television as they listened. Raegan prayed to whoever he thought would listen and hoped Justin would be ok. Everything would be fine. But then the reports came in.
Reporter:.. 10 have been proclaimed dead and several more are missing. This flight was full at the time of the crash. Tune in at ten for more on the story.
Raegan's hope fell harder and faster then the plane. 10 dead and more missing. Justin was on that plane. He could be dead.. or missing. Dead, Raegan might survive dead, but missing was the worst. In that hopeless/hopeful balance of will they come back or will they not? Raegan couldn't do it. He just couldn't.
