Two days went by before Raegan heard any news. Two days he didn't get up in the morning. The news channel had died down and they didn't speak about the crash anymore. Vigils had been held for those lost but Rae didn't go. The news instead they talked of frivolous things like the weather and celebrities. Raegan didn't want to hear it. He only wanted to hear about Justin.
Raegan's eyes drooped and the tear trails stained his face. He was almost asleep when the News sparked his attention again.
Reporter: A truly remarkable story. Today, one young man was pulled from the wreckage of the Southwest crash two days ago. He was seen by rescuers who say "He is almost dead. We saw him and grabbed his shirt but he was hurt bad." Lucky they did. This boy is in medical care right now and is said to have such severe injuries that he will have to be flown back to Baltimore Medical Center for further care.
Raegan stood up as the young man's face came on the screen. His mom walked into the living room and stared. Raegan hadn't gotten up in threes days but now he was standing and crying. The young man was Justin.
Raegan: He's alive. he's alive. He's alive.
Raegan couldn't stop saying those words. He turned and ran to the door, grabbing his shoes and heading out to the car.
Rae's mom: Raegan, sweetheart, where are you going?
She grabbed his shoulder and his face was flushed, panicked.
Raegan: He's coming here mom. I have to go be there. Please?
Raegan pleaded but his mother walked him upstairs to his room and made him fall asleep. He sat on his bed, angry. But soon, his eyes couldn't stay open anymore and he fell into a deep sleep.
