Raegan sat by the tv, not eating or sleeping or even getting up to use the restroom. He needed to hear Justin's name on the screen. Word had gotten out about the crash and he had been receiving texts from everyone, watching and waiting to see if their friend was indeed dead. Around the country, Raegan knew that people would be watching their screens or phones to see if their idol was alive. There was even a hashtag trending on every form of social media. Raegan didn't care. He just hoped.
Raegan's mom: Honey, why don't you drink some water? Your nails are gnawed to the bone and I'm pretty sure you have ripped a hole through the floor.
Rae know that his mom was trying to lighten the mood but now he wanted to be alone. he wanted, needed, to make sure his baby wasn't hurt or dead. The reporter listed off the names of those alive and well as well as those in the hospital. They left those dead or presumed dead out of it, not wanting to bring more sadness to the show. Raegan's heart sank and he slid down the couch. Tears streaked with sad abandon down his cheek and his nose ran. He buried his head in his knees and sobbed loudly. His mom came over and rubbed his back, attempting to help ease his pain. But it didn't work.
