Chapter 3 Land

I lay on the floor of the cave flicking my tail lazily causing clouds of sand to swirl up. Boredom was eating me from the inside, Mattias was off God only knows where, and Emil was with Tino and Bewald watching their son. I exhaled watching the bubbles climb lazily to the ceiling. My mind slowly bargain to fade into boardom induced sleep.

"Lukas! Hey get up!" I moaned in response to him shaking me awake. "What do you want?" 
"I have somethin' for ya!" I nodded my  head, still half asleep, in agreement. A squawk escaped me as Matthias' toned arms slipped around my waist pulling my back closer to his chest. I squirmed and smacked at him only to receive laughter in response. "What are you doing!?"
"Taking you to your surprise!" He flipped me around so I was facing his chest, I begrudgingly curled my tail around his waist, to hold myself up, and relaxed in his embrace.

My eyes widened in shock as we approached a small island, as the air hit my lungs I began coughing, it had been quite s will since I had breathed in normal air. Matthias smiled at me and pulled me closer to the island, I noticed a small dock which was low enough to the water that I could pull myself up on. All my weight crashed down on me causing my body to collapse on the wooden surface, a rare smile crept on to my lips. I felt Matthias collapse next to me, "keep your eyes closed!" I could feel him squirming around and hear him whisper something, suddenly I was lifted off the wooden surface. I clutched at whoever had picked me up, I could hear Matthias start to laugh but it was coming from above me. "You can open your eyes!" I looked up blinking a few times to clear spots from my vision, my breath caught in my throat as I realized that I had normal human appendages once more. I wiggled my toes, a happy noise escaping me. "Well let's get up to the cabin!"
