The end of Humanity?

Part 8 Joelle

Joelle looks around fearfully knowing that the beast could be lurking in the dark. A shiver goes down her back. "Seth where did you go!?" She tightly grips the pistol Seth gave her and starts to walk down the dark hallway. She gets close to the wall to feel her way along the hall. She shakes more not being able to see because Seth and Jake were the only ones with the flashlights. "Seth! Jake! Where are you!" She screams squinting her eyes to try and peer through the darkness. "Ah!" Suddenly she kicks a piece of metal tripping over it and falling to the ground. She winces at the pain of injuring her knee from the fall. She takes a deep breath and sits up and holds her knee. "Those two guys were idiots for running after the beast and the yell. If Jake didn't run after the beast we wouldn't be in this predicament" she puts her hand on the wall and trys to stand up but the pain is too much from the fall. She sits back down. Breathing softly she closes her eyes and sets her gun down next to her and holds her knees. After awhile she hears what sounds to be walking on all fores she looks up and around in a panic and grabs her pointing it down the hall when the sound is coming from. She puts her finger on the trigger and gets ready to shoot then a screach is heard out. Joelle quickly jumps to her feet and shoots into the darkness before running into a room with a open door. After she shot another screech was her a different tone it was the sound of pain coming from it. Joelle hides in a cabinet under a counter in the room. She can hear the monsters steps enter the room. There's a loud crash heard the thing broke something. Joelle opens the cabinet a crack peeking out she sees it the black figure smashing a table as its looking through stuff. The black figure turns to where Joelle is. It quickly over and a tentacle reaches for the cabinet door and rips it off. Joelle presses herself against the wall. The beast tentacle wraps around her waist and rips her out lifting her up into the air on the black figure a black eye opens up and starts to glow. Joelle quickly points her pistol at the black beast firing at it. Shooting it in the eye. It screeches and it suddenly bursts. Joelle falls to the ground with the black slime splattered on her and all over the room. She sits on her hands and knees breathing heavily. "Holy shit... D-did that just happen?" a few minutes later foot steps are heard then Seth and Jake walk in through the door.
