"I feel sick."
Those were my first words in a timestream, I relize. Mom and Dad look at me and clap like I've just said my first words. "I just can't believe we missed first words, first steps, last diaper," Dad explained, "We just couldn't get to you for twelve years, and now your starting middle school."
"But why couldn't you get me?" I asked.
"Damaged Time," he responded.
"What's that?"
"Thirteen years ago, thirty-six babies were found on board a Sky Trails plane. Afterwards, all of the babies were adopted. This made your time damaged, and we couldn't get in to get you back."
"So, you had to wait twelve years?"
"Yes."
"Interesting."
"Look Lola, Look Debrani! We're almost home!"
"Please call me Alisha!"
"Your name is Lola, hon."
"Fine. But only because your my real parents."
We plopped down onto some grass.
