"Is this the future?" I exclaim.
Dad looks at me sadly."No. I think it was conflicting Eludicators, but we're in the 1700s."
"What!?"
I have two reasons for saying that. One, Dad is making no sense. Two, What is a Eludicator? Dad seemed to understand my madness. He said,"Lola, an Eludicator is a machine that fits in my hand, let's us travel in time, and camouflages itself to the time period. It does a lot more, but we need to be in a time hollow to explain."
I had no idea what my dad was talking about. I looked up to him, and said,"Dad, are we in the middle of something?"
But he was fiddling with this book like it was a game. Oh, it's the Eludicator, what ever that is. "Darn, this Eludicator is broken! We are going to have to wait here until the time agency picks us up." Dad exclaimed. Wait a second, I thought, it's the 1700s. The Great Northen War. Swedish Territory. Against Denmark and Poland. "Dad, Mom, are we on Swedish Territory?"
"I don't think so, Lola."
"Stop calling me Lola!"
"But your name is Lola!"
"Ugh!"
"Geez, the 21st century is selfish!"
I honestly hate when Mother and Father whisper, "Alisha is part of the worst generation yet." I absolutely hate it. So you can imagine when my birth parents say it like that.
I look around. Forests full of trees greet me. Not for long, I think, these trees are gone and made ships by the time I get adopted. And those ships will be artifacts too. Rotting wood, worn masts, broken glass...
Humans are horrible.
