"Jilanne Love, I'm here to see her" I said rushing up to the receptionist
"Name and relationship please" She said typing something on the computer
"Adonis Love, her son" I replied tapping my foot on the floor impatiently
"and he is...?" She asked lifting her head up to look at Dillon for a split second then back to the computer
"my step-brother" I said feeling weird after
"okay well she's in critical condition, there's not too much I can say you'll have to wait for the doctor to explain. For now just take a seat in the waiting room"
She printed out two stickers and placed them on a bracelet handing them to us. Then she directed us to the waiting room where we would wait for the doctor to come speak with us.
"you think she's okay?" I asked as we walked to the waiting room
"what kind of question is that, of course she is. you can't be putting that kind of negativity in your mind right now"
"you heard the lady, she said she was in critical condition. what you think that means, a bump on the head?" I asked sarcastically
"we don't know what that means until the doctor comes and tells us. all I'm saying is don't start putting yourself through all that without knowing the situation"
Right after he said that a female doctor appeared behind him. I don't understand why I got excited but I did. That is until she went to a different family of course.
"I just have this feeling...I don't know" I whispered
"Adonis everything will be fine" Dillon said pulling me in for a hug
"you don't know that" I dryly replied into his chest
"umm Mr Adonis Love?" I heard a deep voice from behind Dillon
I pulled back from the hug to see a mid-aged white man who I assume is the doctor based on his uniform.
"that would be me" I said shoving my hands in my pockets
"well I have some unfortunate news. As you know the patient suffers from Pancreatic cancer so it's much difficult-"
Wait. Was I hearing this right, did he just say my mom has pancreas cancer?
