Part 5: Patrolling

*Jungkook's pov*

The night has been quiet, and I've been trying to fall asleep with no results. So many useless things have just passed through my mind, and I have started drawing to let all the thoughts come out. Here I am now, sitting in front of a piece of paper. There are some mixed pictures on the paper, but before I get my chance to refine them, I hear some voice from nearby.

First I thought it was just the wind blowing outside, but then my ears begun to recognize words, and after hesitating for a moment, I recognize Yongguk and Lucy's voices. If I would lean to the wall between the two rooms, I would be able to hear clearly what they are talking about...

"I saw a prophecy."

...

"... Y/n is in danger..."

...

...

"Should we warn Y/n?"

"My opinion is that we shouldn't."

Sudden panic hits me after I hear those words. My dear, is in danger. This cannot happen again. Everything was meant to be well after the latest battle. And everything has went well, until now... But to be honest, it all has went bit too well. There has been no trespasses, no fights or arguments between the clans or with the guardians, and we've got enough prey to feed ourselves.

I quickly get up and rush to the next room. I must know why Yongguk and Lucy won't be telling anything about the prophecy to Y/n.

Lucy: Jungkook!

Lucy takes a fright as I enter the room fast.

Yongguk: Jungkook, who gave you the permission to enter without knocking??

Hyung's scolding annoys me, but I let it be so this scene won't become more dramatic.

Jungkook: I'm sorry to disturb you like this, but I happened to hear your conversation and I'd like to know what's going on.

My voice was more like demanding than asking, but I tried my best to sound polite.

Lucy: *gulps* Jungkook, I've got no other choice...

Jungkook: She's your friend, how can you not tell her if she's in danger?

Lucy: I'm not sure!

As Lucy hisses at me, I get a little stunned by her strict voice and nervous expression on her face.

Yongguk: Lucy... It's alright. We are not forcing you to decide now.

Yongguk hyung shots a glare at me and I mutter an apology to Lucy.

Jungkook: Hyung, it was your decision. You told Lucy not to tell Y/n.

Yongguk: And I have my reasons. We shouldn't make her worry too much, if the danger isn't real. I do see your point, I'm worried of her too. That is why we must keep an eye on her and everything else around us. Clan's safety and guaranteeing it is a must.

Jungkook: But Lucy herself said that only Y/n is in danger! We must put her first!

》Yongguk hyung doesn't see the real point here! My patience is running out.》

Lucy: But by keeping an eye on the whole clan's safety, we guarantee her safety as well. She's still a part of this clan. So Jungkook, why don't you focus more on keeping the whole clan safe and not making your wife worry too much?

Jungkook: I can focus on that, but she deserves to know.

Just when I was about to step out of the room, hyung's words stop me.

Yongguk: You aren't going anywhere before hearing this. No one will be telling her about the prophecy until Lucy is sure. This is my decision and order to you.

Without turning around, I bite my lip and nod unwillingly. Even if I'd want to be a rebel and tell her, I couldn't block out Yongguk's orders this time. I silently exit the room and go back to my room. I had to release my anger to something, but I couldn't go out incase if I'd accidentally tell Y/n about the prophecy. I took out my pencil again and continued where I was, refining what I had drawn.

*Y/n's pov*

On the same time, in the deep woods, you are patrolling without knowing anything what had happened in the camp. You walk evenly, yet every sense ready for anything. The forest has been silent, only the lonely wind's voice has been clear. You feel lucky to be patrolling on a calm night, you are feeling a little tired so it wouldn't be nice if you'd have to solve something.

Just when you had thought that, a disturbing tension fills the air. You feel like a pair of eyes are watching you again, and you try to smell who it is. A strong and unfamiliar scent fills your nose, and you have to pay attention on recognizing it. Something in it is abnormal, but soon you recognize a slight scent of the northern clan.

》Have I accidentally wandered to the other side of the border??》

You try to focus on finding the scent of the border between the two territories, and good for you, you notice you are on the right side. This gives you courage and gives you the opportunity to hush the uninvited guest away.

"Whoever you are, you don't belong to these lands, leave now!" You yell confidently.

First there was no response. Your every muscle was tense now, and you slowly walked in a closed circle. Soon the character who had been watching you came out, you recognized it as female. She had white fur which stood out from the greenish environment, and she approached you slowly and her head was down in order to show respect. As the wolf came closer, you noticed why you didn't recognize her strong scent at first. It was full of fear.

Aah, I've have lots of tests recently, and I haven't had any time for the story. And on top of that, I've had problems with creating the story. But after this exam week is over, my school will become easier, and I'll try to write more often.
