Lion Quartz ( A Steven Universe Fanfiction )

Part 5: Explanation

"It all started when pink diamond got shattered. Yellow, Blue and White diamond were after all the Rose Quartzes to bubble them all. The Rose Quartz that led The Crystal Gems..your mother-"
She explained before getting cut off by Steven.

"You knew my mom?!"
He asked with excitment.

"Yes. We were good friends back on homeworld. But anyways...your mom told me to poof somehow and take the form of a lion before the Diamond Authority could capture me. So I did, and your mom hid me on earth. I was poofed for a week, trying my best to make myself look and seem as much like a lion as possible. Usually a change like that would take three to four weeks. But I had to rush it. So as time passed I started developing feline like characteristics. I was worried that i'd completeley become a lion and not have my powers anymore or control what I was doing. So before that happened I needed to find a way to get poofed. And that's how everything happened."
She told him, and there was a moment of silence with steven staring at her, amazed with stars in his eyes.

"So how did you find me? And why didnt the gems know about you?"
He asked with great enthusiasm, his eyes remaining as stars.

"Well. I was around your mother for a while. And i'm not sure why she didn't tell the gems about me. When Rose left for you, she told me to find and protect you for her. It took me 13 years to find you...but im so glad I finally did."
She said with a smile.

"I can't believe that all happened! Do you still have your powers?"
Steven asked happily.

"Maybe.."
She stood up, running to the water. As she got further into the sea she stayed on top of the water, standing on it. She turned around to look at steven who was amazed. She giggled, running back to him. She crouched down so Steven could climb on her back, so he did and she picked him up, running back out onto the water.

"Where do you want to go?"
She asked, looking back at him.

"Um, up there!"
He pointed to the top of the mountain, above the temple. And with that, a portal appeared in front of them which took them to the fenced in area at the top of the mountain. Steven climbed off of her as her eyes faded from pure white to back to her normal black pupils.

"Woah.."
He said in awe.
She giggled, sitting down in the grass, patting the ground next to her for Steven to sit. He sat down, and they both watched the stars.
