The woman put a hand over her chest in shock at what the boy admitted. "You don't have a name?" She asked in disbelief.
"I don't know I might have but I can't remember anything!" He cried in frustration.
The couple shared a sympathetic look before the man laid a comforting hand on the boys shoulder. "If you want we can give you a name at least until you remember your own." The man promised.
The boy seemed to lighten up at the mention of a name and he nodded.
"If I was able to have a child I would have named him Dominic is that good for you?" The woman asked. The boy nodded liking the sound of the name "Dominic" he said in his head listening to the way it sounded.
"Thank-you." He said genuinely grateful to have at least something to call himself. "Wait what's your names?" He asked realizing he didn't know who these people were.
"My name is Rudy and this is my wife Eleanor." Rudy said.
"Thank-you Rudy and Eleanor." He repeated a yawn breaking through his face.
"You should rest when you wake up I'll have dinner ready and hopefully something to help you walk at least until you heal." Eleanor said helping Dominic lay down and pulling a blanket over top of him.
He smiled in gratitude before closing his eyes falling asleep almost instantly. Eleanor smiled back ruffling a piece of his hair back before leaving the room, Rudy following.
He woke up hours later his body sweating as he remembered his almost near death experience. He didn't even realize that he had screamed until the couple burst into the room and ran over to him.
"What is it honey?" Eleanor asked worriedly inspecting him.
"Nothing I just had a nightmare but it was nothing." He promised begging her not to ask her anymore questions. She shared a look with her husband who nodded and she seemed to accept my answer.
"We managed to find a wheelchair from when Rudy here broke his knee in that horrible biking accident." She told Dominic as Rudy walked in pulling a wheelchair behind him.
"Okay." Dominic said quietly as Rudy pulled up the chair before helping Eleanor lift the boy. He let out a small cry though when Rudy ended up touching a part in his back and they let him back down so he was sitting up on the bed.
"I'm sorry I forgot about your um..," he started before he trailed off.
"My what?" Dominic asked the pain almost felt like his arm was being pulled in the wrong way which was strange to him.
"Your um.." Eleanor tried before breaking off and pointing at her back hoping he'd get the idea.
He caught on to what she was trying to say and looked behind him so he could see what they meant. What he saw was so shocking he didn't even know how to react.
Erupting underneath where his shoulder blades hung a pair of beautiful, soft, pure white wings.
