Tom gulped his nervousness down and chose to ignore it, even if it was constantly rising up his throat. Tord looked over to him, curiosity in his gray eyes.
"Thomas? Are you ok there?" The norski asked, genually concerned for the smaller male. Tom nodded slightly.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Just slightly nervous."
"I don't blame you at all. I mean, this could be the final stance."
"Yeah... you aren't helping."
"Sorry." Tord chuckled softly to show he was just messing around with his first reply. Tom smiled softly as the army jeep they were riding in skidded to a stop. Edd, the driver, stopped the vehicle and looked behind him at the two leaders.
"You two ready?"
"Of course we are." Tom responded and grabbed his trusty AK-47 and jumped over the window, since the jeep had no roof. Tord grabbed his assault rifle and followed his boyfreind, grinning at him.
"Don't worry, Tom. We'll be fine."
"I hope you're right..."
"Trust me, I'm right."Todd had sent out a last wave of all of his soldiers as a final effort against the Blue and Red Armies. Tom and Tord took this a final chance to finish the Crimson Navy off and finally stop Todd from hurting them, their friends, or their soldiers.
Tord slid behind a bush and panted slightly, wiping the sweat and blood off of his forehead. He thought this battle would be relatively easy, but Todd showed that he had plenty of troops left in his navy. But, luckily, Tom and his forces were pushing back the lines of Crimson Navy soldiers and making dents in their numbers. He quickly reloaded his rifle and poked the tip of the barrel out of the bush and shot in a random direction. He looked up and over the bush and smirked as he saw he had shot someone straight in the knee cap, causing them to fall onto their face.Tord looked around the battlefield swiftly and spotted Tom, shooting at the lines of enemies, staying completely focused. Tord had to give it to him, he was good at aiming.
Nevertheless, the norski looked around before pelting across the battle field to his boyfriend's side. Tom noticed this and grinned widely at him as Tord returned the gesture. Tom reloaded his gun and the two took turns shooting at the enemies.
The battlefield slowly stopped showing signs of life on the enemy's side of the frontline. Todd sat there on his side, looking down and setting his gun down. His glasses were cracked on one side and the bandages on his cheeks were bloodied and starting to peel off. Tord took this opertunity to alert Tom and the two ran to the other side of the battlefield. The two hid behind a piece of rock as Tom took off again shortly after with his gun. He ran over to the place where they had seen Todd sitting and pointed his gun behind the rock as he reached it.
"You better give up... wait... what?" He asked himself to see no one sitting behind the boulder. He looked at the spot confused before he heard a click of a gun behind him. He gulped and turned his head, the situation seeming familiar to him.
"Not so fast, Tom." Todd chuckled sinisterly and nudged the back of Tom's head with the barrel of the pistol. "You better get on your knees, asshole."
"Never." Tom responded with and held his up gun as he turned around quickly. The barrel was right at Todd's stomach and the commander laughed.
"Really? You're going to do this?"
"Shut up." He stated and looked past Todd, smirking.
"What are you looking at?" Todd asked and was about to turn his head around before Tom leapt out of the way and Tord bashed the butt of his rifle against Todd's skull, effectively making him drop to his knees and drop his gun. Tom quickly picked it up as Tord got in front of Todd, aiming his gun's barrel at his forehead. Todd looked up at him with a shocked expression before slowly melting into a shaky smile.
"Looks like you got me..."
"I suggest you take off any weapons you have." Tord said coldly and Todd obeyed, taking off his army belt, which held all of his weapons. Tom picked it up and chucked it far away, effectively setting off a grenade that was on the belt. Todd chuckled again, but not sinisterly. It sounded broken and weak."Are you going to shoot me or what?"
"Wait just a second. We want answers." Tord said and looked at Tom. "I think you know the question that we both have on our minds."
Tom nodded and looked at Todd.
"Why the hell do you hate us? We didn't do anything to you, nor even met you. Why did you want us dead?" He asked and Todd laughed again.
"Thomas, you two did do something to me. You took away someone who was very important to me." He stated with a shaky grin. Tord looked at him confused.
"Tom hasn't killed anyone."
"That's right, Tord. You killed someone who I loved."
"Who was that? I've killed many people in my life." Tord stated, slightly confused.
"Does a certain.... robot remind you of anything?" He asked and Tord gulped, forcing himself to keep the gun up."T... The incident?" He asked and Todd nodded. "But... I don't think I killed anyone... did I?" He asked and looked back at Tom with a completely confused face. Tom sighed and looked down, knowing who Todd was talking about. He looked back at Tord again and muttered a single line under his breath that rang in his head.
"What a sight...." He muttered and Tord looked at him confused before remembering.
"The person that I thought was you...?" He looked at Todd. "Is that who you're talking about?" Todd opened his mouth to say something, but Tom beat him to it.
"He was my 'opposite', I guess you could say. He was a neighbor of ours. Jon." He stated and Todd nodded and looked down, a few tears falling from his eyes.
"Yeah... Tommy-boy over here has it spot on.... heh... you want to know something, Tord? I used to be great friends with Jon, Eduardo, and Mark, until I moved away to join the military. I promised myself as soon as I pulled out of the driveway that I would tell Jon how I felt when I got back... only to find out that you killed him before I had the chance...." Todd explained as more tears fell out of his eyes."Well... that explains why you hate me, but why do you hate Tom?" Tord asked.
"I was thinking when I joined the war.... if I killed you, I would avenge the one I loved. But then, I noticed the look in your eyes whenever you looked at Tom. Even when he was mentioned. It was hidden, but I could see it. I knew the look in your eyes was love towards him. So, I thought, if I killed Tom instead of you, you would feel the same pain that I did all those years ago." Todd explained again and chuckled. "And I almost came close a few times, but you two stuck through it. You have a strong love. I wish I had that..."Tord sighed slightly, but Todd wasn't finished with his speech, yet. He looked up at Todd and gave him a sad smile as more tears fell.
"Just shoot me... End my miserable existence. You've killed everyone I cared about. You'll be doing me a favor." He said boldly, almost challenging the leader. Tord gulped and held the gun shakily as he placed his finger on its trigger. He stood there for a few moments, the gun shaking violently in his hands as tears welled up in his eyes. He eventually dropped he guns and burst into tears.
"I CAN'T DO IT! FOR ONCE I CAN'T KILL SOMEONE! I CAN'T END MY OPPOSITE'S LIFE!!" He screamed as Tom watched on. He placed a hand on Tord's shoulders, gripping Todd's pistol in his hands.
"Tord... back away."
"What? I thought you didn't want..."
"Move."Tord moved backwards and Tom took his place, raising the gun to Todd's head. Todd smiled again.
"Any last words?" Tom asked and Todd shook his head. "I want to say I'm sorry... for everything you've been through. Say hi to Jon for me, alright?" Todd nodded again and closed his eyes. Tom took a deep breath in.
"Goodbye, Todd."
A loud bang was sounded in the area.Tom dropped the pistol he was holding and turned away from the bloody scene in front of him. Tord instantly hugged him close, letting the Brit cry into his shoulder. He rubbed his back, trying to soothe his boyfriend.
"Shh... it's ok, calm down..." he said and looked behind Tom at the bloody corpse of Todd. His eyes were closed with a small smile on his face, with a large bullet hole lodged into his skull."It's finally over..."
"Wait..." Tom pushed away from Tord as more tears slipped out. Tord looked at him confused.
"Tommy? What's wrong?"
"I... the... the alliance... I... I just ended it! We promised that it would go until Todd was dead! I... I don't want to battle you again!" Tom started crying again before Tord hugged him again.
"Than let's make a new alliance, right here, right now. Our armies will be forever bound together."
"But... you want to take over the world..."
"How about we just both rule over the territory I've gained already, hm?"
"I... I guess..." Tom said and pulled back from the hug again. Tord placed his hand or with a small smile.
"Deal?"
"Deal." Tom shook his hand firmly.
