All April O'Neil could remember about last night was the bombs and blades. The harsh swishes and the loud explosions, Donnie, she thought, as he picked her up and carried her away from the battlefield. Then there was Raph, oh god, Raph. The falling debris. He almost died saving Mikey and in return he is now unconscious with a deep crack in his shell that was infected. They were on the run, but they really didn't know where to go. They would go to the farmhouse April grew up in if the Earth Protection Force hadn't taken over trying to dig out the rest of the old Kraang tech from the basement. It gave April shivers just thinking about what went down in that basement and part of her was glad they weren't going back. So, they headed south towards Long Island, where Shredder and the rest of his goons would hopefully be unable to find them.

"Red? Red! April!"

April snapped out of her daze.

"What Casey?" She asked much harsher than she had expected.

"I asked if your head is alright enough to play some music," he replied.

"Casey I swear, if you start playing screamo trash I will personally stop the car, drag you out of the driver's seat, and leave you on the side of the road," snapped Donnie from the back of the Party Wagon.

"Chill, dude," Mikey cut in. "He was only asking."

"That doesn't change my answer," Donnie was walking the line between talking and yelling. "I am not listening to that junk right now, in fact I would appreciate some silence from all of you!"

"Donnie, it's ok," Leo said as he gently grabbed Donnie's arm. "Relax, we've all been stressed out lately, but you need to take a moment. You're getting really edgy. We all are getting a little edgy"

Leo was absolutely correct. April felt like she had run a marathon in minutes and then got hit by a bus, but she knew Donnie had to feel even worse. He was the most intelligent person in the family, it felt as if he knew everything, really, but it comes with unfortunate responsibilities. He is the one who knows about medical science and biology, so now he is the one who has to somehow get Raph back on his feet. If Raph... if Raph... if Donnie couldn't help him, then he would feel responsible. She knew Leo would feel responsible too, he probably already does feel responsible for what happened. As the leader and it was his job to keep his followers safe, and as the big brother and with Sensei not around, it was his job to keep his family away from harm. No matter the cost to himself.

She glanced at the digital clock on the dash board. Three in the morning. We all need some sleep.

"Maybe we need to find a place to camp and get some rest," Leo suggested, beating her to the punch.

April managed a small smile. It seemed often that she wasn't the only one on the team with telepathy and telekinetic power, still being a ninja came pretty close.

"We should probably avoid the cities if we can, Shredder is going to expect us to hide out there," Donnie added. "Plus, I could go for being out in the open for a while and not hiding in the shadows."

April pulled out her phone and looked at a map. There was a forest next to a road not far away from here where they could pull over beside. April informed the guys and the air lightened a bit at the notion of rest.

"Aww yeah boy! Camping!" Exclaimed Mikey. Small chuckles all around.

They pulled on the grass next to the road, which fortunately was very empty at the moment. They all piled out except for Leo, who refused to leave Raph alone in the van. April stretched her sore muscles while the others did the same. Mikey let out an overly dramatic yawn and flopped down on the grass, looking at the sky.
