Carter was out with Zia at the movies when it happened. He heard that voice in his head whisper Carter. Carter jumped out of his seat, in surprise, then his eyes went wide, Percy, he thought, Percy's in trouble. We have to help him.

"Come on, Zia, we have to help someone." He grabbed Zia's wrist and started running out of the theater like a madman.

"Carter, wait. Slow down." Carter stopped and turned around to look his crush in the face.

"Carter," she continued. "Carter, what on Earth has gotten you so wound up?"

Carter looked her in the eyes and said, "I can't explain it right now, but I have a friend that's in trouble and we have to help him."

"Carter, what about the others? We can't leave them at Brooklyn House alone."

"I know, I was going call my sister." He pulled a cell phone out of his pocket. "I figure if he needs my help, he needs the help of our trainees, too."

Zia rolled her eyes, "You people, I will never understand."

Then Carter started running again, and Zia chased after him. Carter dialed Sadie's number while running and started talking on the phone.

"Hey, Sadie, yeah I kinda need you."

He could practically hear his sister rolling her eyes, "Again?" she asked.

"Yes, again. I need you to grab all the trainees and bring them with me to Long Island. Can you do that?"

Sadie sighed, "I guess, but can I ask why we're doing this?"

"I have a friend and he needs our help, just get to Long Island as quick as you can." Carter almost shouted into his phone before hanging up without any goodbyes.

Carter realized he didn't have any quick ways to get to Long Island, himself. But then he remembered something, the Duat, he thought, we can travel through the Duat.

He grabbed Zia's and again and said, "Hold on, this may not feel the best."

He closed his eyes and concentrated on the magical realm and then Long Island. He opened his eyes and saw he was in an unfamiliar place. He looked around and saw a sign that read, '3.14 Farm Rd'.

The next thing Carter saw was a modified 1970s something van, parked in the grass on the side of the road and a tall pine tree standing tall close to the center of the forest. Then, he looked up and saw that his sister had somehow managed to get Freak to pull a boatful of trainees through the sky. He watched as Sadie landed the boat a few hundred feet away in a cluster of trees. He decided he would go for the pine tree because, if nothing else works, he can climb it to see if he can find his friend. So, he grabbed Zia's hand again, since she had let go as soon as they had landed here, and started running for the tall pine tree.

When Carter finally managed to bring himself to a stop, he was in a very strange place. He saw a big blue farm house, a climbing wall with lava running down the sides, a piece of concrete ground, with large Greek style poles sticking up, no roof and a bunch of picnic tables. He saw a fire that seemed to constantly be burning and an amphitheater, but no one seemed to be tending it. Carter continued to look around and his eyes landed on what had to be the strangest assortment of cabins he had ever seen, one was completely silver like moonlight. Another seemed to be made from the beach, with sand all around and shells and dry bits of seaweed and other sea plants. Then there was one that was pure black and looked really creepy, like a place a vampire might wanna hang out.

Carter started walking towards the cabins, hoping he'd find Percy somewhere when he felt a tug towards the woods and heard his name again Carter. Carter started running towards the woods, hoping his friends and sister would have the sense to follow him.
