Annabeth walked over and while kneeling down she gently shook the red haired girl with her hand. The girl mumbled and half opened one eye. Annabeth tried to put on a kind smile as the girl rolled around to look at her, bad mistake. The girl jumped when she realized it was not one of her friends and sent a swift punch into Annabeth's jaw. She yelped in surprise and fell flat on her back, the girl quickly standing up over top of her. Raph was cracking up...no pun intended.

"Oh, yeah I forgot to tell you April is a trained Kunoichi," He said, still laughing.

"S-sorry," April said quickly, extending her hand. "I thought it was Leo and then, well, you startled me."

Annabeth took April's hand and stood up rubbing her sore mouth.

"Uh, no harm done," Annabeth replied.

"Hmm, I don't think so, but thanks for not being mad," April said sheepishly. "So, um, whats up? Is something wrong with Raph?"

"I'm fine," Raph said with a serious face, "but we've got some things to talk about."

"Oh? Like what?" April asked cautiously.

Annabeth pulled a second chair across from her's and April sat slowly. Annabeth looked her over, but besides April's demonstration of her fighting skills, there was nothing odd about her. Why would this girl attract attention?

"So tell them about the dream, Annabeth," Raph urged.

"Ok, so I was telling Raph that some of the people have dreams that can tell the future and my boyfriend had a dream earlier and it involves you and your friends. Percy said he saw you lying on the ground with a man standing over you and people fighting-"

"When?" April asked suddenly, her face had gone pale and her eyes were wide.

"What do you mean?"

"When did he have this dream?" She asked lowly.

"He came to me about it pretty early this morning, I can only guess it was sometime last night."

April quickly stood up and leaned against her chair, her back facing Raph and Annabeth. Her legs were shaking and her hands fidgeting on the edge of the chair. She licked her lips and turned her head back towards a concerned Annabeth.

"W-what else happened in his dream?" She asked shakily.

"He said something about robots fighting and you and the others were lying on the ground. Percy said he was standing in front of you with someone else and a man had walked up behind you. I don't remember the details, but the man did something and you started convulsing in pain."
"Oh my god...oh my-" April was cut off as her legs buckled from underneath her and her body lurched forward.

Annabeth jumped up and caught her before she hit the floor. April didn't completely pass out, but leaned heavily into Annabeth's arms. Raph grunted as he leaned as far forward as he could and lead April on to his bed. He held her steady as April cautiously sat.

"Sorry," she muttered when she saw how much Raph moved.

"Ahh, was nothin'," he assured her, but it was obvious the movement caused him a lot of pain. "What is it?"

"This-this morning-" April began, "Annabeth, I had the exact same dream. I could see Percy from where I was laying. I didn't think it was real, I-I didn't want it to be real. After I met him this morning, I knew I had that dream because we were supposed to meet you, but I had no idea that-" April shook her head in dismay.

"What does it mean?" Annabeth asked quietly. "Why would they be after you? I mean I understand why they might want your friends, no offense Raph," she said to him. He shrugged. "But, why was that man targeting you?"

Raph and April shared a meaningful look that Annabeth couldn't understand. She doubted April was a demigod. She would have had to have some idea of where she was if she really was one. Also, those men, they shouldn't have been able to see any magic April or the others were doing because the Mist would have altered perception of what's going on. Right?

"You think you can show her?" Raph asked April.

April nodded. "What do you think I should try it on?"

"Ehh," Raph scanned the room. His eyes locked onto a pencil and a pen that lay forgotten on top of a clipboard. "Try the pencil and pen over there. You can probably lift that easily."

Yeah, a pencil weighs nothing, thought Annabeth. Why would he want her to pick up a pencil and a pen? Annabeth was surprised when instead of getting off the cot, April folded her legs under her and placed her hands on her knees. One of Annabeth's eyebrows cocked as April took in a deep breath to focus herself. April's eyes closed.

Annabeth was not expecting what happened next. The pencil shifted, then paused. Then the pen quickly jerked. April took another breath in and the pen and pencil started to rise off the table, suspended in mid air. Annabeth gasped at the sight.

"Ta-da!" Raph exclaimed with unhidden sarcasm. "The reason why someone would target an innocent teenage girl!"

April cast him a annoyed glance, then brought both the pen and pencil to her hands and plucked them from the air. Annabeth looked on in shock and awe at April. Annabeth's first instinct was to ask 'what in the name of the gods are you', but refrained. Still, she couldn't manage not to stare with her mouth open. April laughed solemnly at the sight.

"Yeah, I certainly catch people's attention," She said bitterly. "I am not human, Annabeth. Not completely anyway. I'm like Raph and the guys, I'm also a mutant, but a very different kind of mutant. Unlike them, I wasn't an accident. There is an alien race called the Kraang. They are the ones that created me."

"Aliens? For real? You're joking right?" Annabeth asked, but not sarcastically. She was genuinely hoping that April was lying.

"No, there very real," April said shaking her head. "They wanted Earth because the fabric of space is relatively thin here. Interdimensional travel is much easier. They wanted a place like this because they wanted to have easy access in and out of a dimension known as Dimension X. This dimension is being fought over by both the Kraang and another alien race known as the Triceratons. The Kraang have tried multiple times to take over Earth and the Triceratons, not about to let this back door fall into the hands of their enemies, have tried to destroy Earth. We've only barely stopped them before."

"Then what do they have to do with you?" Annabeth asked, lips barely moving.

"They...created me," April said, her voice barely qualified as a whisper. "I was supposed to be a weapon. A tool to be used to take over Earth. They've been experimenting on my family for generations, and they finally perfected their formula with me."

"Your whole family?" Annabeth asked in shock.

"N-no," April said quickly. "My father is normal. My mother on the other hand...I am not sure. One night my family had to abandon our old farm house because the Kraang finally came to take me. Me and my Dad escaped, but my mother did not. I know at least they did some experimenting after they caught her, but I wonder if she was like me before. Dad never talks about her. I-...I don't think he can or that he really knows what happened to her."

Annabeth let it all sink in. She couldn't imagine what it would be like to go through that. To lose your parent like that and always wonder if she was alive or dead. To be someone else's puppet, a tool, a dangerous object. It was simply disgusting, but Annabeth knew a thing or two of being used for another person's amusement.

"Here's the best part," April continued. "Nobody has any idea why I turned out different from all the other attempts. Why I have powers, but the other experiments don't. Now everyone wants to find out what makes me special."

"And by find out you mean..."

"Have their 'scientist' experiment on me even more," April said shortly, "and something tells me that the man in my dream wants to do exactly that."
