Chapter 10: Whereabouts

Again that morning Lyra woke up staring at her peach coloured roof. She got out of bed, looked in the mirror to see her face was red and swollen from crying throughout the night. Well I guess I was crying again...I should take a shower. She slipped her clothes off and had a shower. After her shower she put on her maroon shirt and skirt then clipped her blue tie on like every other morning. She went downstairs ate breakfast and on que there was a knock at the door. Was it Endean? Has he forgiven me? Or is it Em- I don't even want to think of his name! That disgusting bas- There was another knock. She went over and opened the door, not surprised by the fact, it wasn't Endean.

'Hey babe' Emmet said casually

Lyra didn't answer and instead slammed the door shut.

'Lyra...Are you okay?'

Lyra heard from the other side of the door. She ignored his knocking and talking and went upstairs to her mum, who was sitting in bed with her pink computer sitting on her lap 'Mum, can you drop me to school?'

'Endean isn't showing up again?' She shut the lid

'Yea'

'Oh okay. Don't be sad honey, he will come around' She got up and walked into her wardrobe 'I will be down in a minute'

Once Kirsty was ready, they went downstairs and opened the door and standing there was Emmet.

'Baby, why you mad?'

Kirsty looked at Lyra with wide eyes 'Who's this?'

'Let's go mum' Lyra opened the door, pushed her way past Emmet and hoped in the car. Kirsty started driving.

'What was that all about? That poor boy is upset now'

'Mum...He isn't good'

'Has this got something to do with the whole Endean situation?'

'Yes...' Lyra looked down then back up at her mum

'Tell me everything, honey' Kirsty pulled over from driving so Lyra spilled everything out.

'Oh honey, you lost your virginity to a random and don't even remember! That's horrible'

'Mum! That's all you're going to focus in on? Seriously?'

'Baby, you can stay home today'

'No mum, it's okay'

'Nope. I insist. You're staying home' Lyra did have a slight bit of aggravation that she had to stay home but she was happy to get away from everyone at school for a bit.

After a day at home, Lyra was starting to feel better when she got a text from Fern.

Fern: Hey girly bum, you and Endean spending the day together?

Lyra: I wish :'(

Fern: What? Well that's where everyone thought you guys were today. Yanno, doing the bad stuff 😉

Lyra: Just stop Fern! That's disgusting! We aren't dating anymore! Get that through your head!

Fern: Wow. Where has, MY Lyra gone? I was just joking. I was wondering where you and Endean were today, that's all.

Lyra instantly started thinking of her dream again.

Lyra: Endean wasn't at school?

Before she got another text from Fern, Xavier texted her

Xavier: Hi, was Endean at yours today?

Lyra: No?

She then went back to Ferns text messages where she wrote

Fern: Nope

After reading those text messages Lyra thought going back to school wasn't such a good idea.

For 2 whole weeks, Lyra didn't go to school. She had Fern come over a few days to catch her up on the gossip but that was it. She wanted to be isolated from the world.
