Austin's bare arms enclosed my limp body. And the feeling of his embrace was the most comforting thing I've felt in the longest time. I brought my arms around his torso, returning the hug, hoping that he needed it too so that I didn't seem weird.
As my hands clasped around his smooth back, I felt his body relax and his chin rest on top of my head.
"What's bothering you, Kylie?" Austin cooed.
"Everything," I mumbled into his chest.
"Is there anything I can do to make something better?" he pestered.
I released my grip from him as I looked up at his face, even though I couldn't exactly see due to the lights being off.
"Can you change the past?" I asked him in all seriousness.
I didn't get an answer, but I didn't expect one. I'm sure he has his own things he would rater go change. A few moments of silence past when I felt his hand found mine, which was impressive since it was nearly pitch black in the room.
He simply held my hand but t felt like so much more. Maybe it was due to the simplicity of our setting, or the vulnerability of my emotions but with every breath, I savored the tightness of his hand around mine.
"I can't change your past, Kylie..." Austin trailed off in a hushed whisper.
I tightened his hand, refusing to accept the truth he was telling me. But I felt his other hand clasp my one tiny hand, "But if you'll let me, I want to be part of your future."
-------------
The End.
It's probably how you expected it to turn out so sorry about that!
