Neither one of us said a word. We just sat there, each in our own worlds, thinking. All I could think about were the memories. The lifetime of memories that Matt had given me. My anger had boiled over me and now I just sat there, next to my fake boyfriend, think about my dead ex-boyfriend.
"You don't know how sorry I am about that Kylie," Austin's voice was soft when he spoke. "I just wanted to get her jealous, I never wanted to get you hurt."
"Well you got her jealous, congrats. What's next, we make up this big story about how it was just a fling and no-" I didn't kiss back. I didn't know how to. No, I know how to kiss, but I didn't know how to kiss someone I didn't love. He pulled back when he found out it was giving no reaction. "Well that's not the reaction I'm used to getting," Austin seemed genuinely confused as I sat there wide mouthed about to smack him when I heard someone scoff behind us. I turned around thinking that if it was Alex I was going to beat the shit out of her.
"Dillon," I panicked. How could I explain to Dillon that Austin wasn't my boyfriend when he must've seen the whole kiss. But technically he might've just missed that moment. Wait no because he scoffed and he would only scoff if he saw the kiss.
"Dillon, it's really not what it looks like," I shot Austin a glare because he's the reason I'm even in this predicament.
"Phew good because it looked like you were kissing that guy over there from what I could see," Dillon said with no emotion.
"Hey, I don't like how you're talking to my girlfriend," Austin interjected emphasizing the word 'girlfriend'.
Dillon didn't even look at Austin once whole he spoke, his eyes stayed on me.
"You told me you were single," Dillon sighed.
I looked at Austin for help but he offered none. "I am single!" I reassured Dillon.
"I don't want any games, Kylie, do you still have my number?" Dillon didn't look amused.
"Of course," I smiled, maybe when this whole Austin thing is done I'll text him and let him know that I really am single.
"Delete it," and with that, Dillon walked into the restaurant.
