Dillon Tyler was a fairly well-known name in my county. not because of his academic scholarship to Princeton, but because of the events that happened on July 4th, 2012.
Dillon and his girlfriend, Casey, had gotten a late start to driving to their friend's party because of a dispute between Casey and her mother. Casey had lied to her mom about going to the party she wasn't allowed to attend, but when Dillon came to the door, her mother answered it. Oblivious to the dispute between the two ladies, Dillon was truthful when Casey's mom asked about their plans for the evening.
After twenty minutes of loud arguing, Dillon convinced Casey's mom to let her go, ensuring her safety with himself around. They left soon after 9, headed for the party. Dillon tried to make conversation with Casey but received the silent treatment until they were about half way to the house.
Casey turned to Dillon, "what on Earth were you thinking?! Telling my mom I was going to a party??"
Dillon tried to remain calm as the blood inside of him began to boil, "Well when you asked me to come to the door, I thought that meant you had told her."
"Are you retarded?? Since when has my mother been okay with me having a life?! Don't you listen when I told you that she HATES me?? How everything I do is never good enough? I don't think you understand the stress I go through under her control," Casey was at her breaking point now, and Dillon sensed that, so he tried to choose his words very wisely.
He stroked her hand, but she quickly snatched it away. "Babe, I know you're upset, and I'm sorry, I'm so sorry, but everything worked out in the end, right? she let you go and she didn't seem to be that mad when we left."
"You don't get it! You NEVER get it. you never listen, I don't know how I put up with you all the time, you're so god damn inconsiderate!" Casey yelled. she didn't even look the least remorseful about what she had said.
Dillon turned to look at her, his vision with blocked with tears that had begun to develop. The last thing he remembered was turned his head to look at his future ex-girlfriend when a thunderous sound of two metals colliding and a shriek erupted to the right of him.
