Chapter Seven: Pain.

I looked at Lea and smiled. He crossed his arms behind his back and rocked back and forth on his heels as he waited. I looked up at the lantern lit sky and saw the little dots up above. I could see dashes of light go through the sky and recognized it as a shooting star. My eyes glimmered with excitement like a young child's and quickly looked back at Lea, who was staring at me confused.

"What's up with that look on your face Alex?" He asked, folding his arms.

I pointed a finger at the sky as more lights dashed. He looked up and smiled.

"Well, ya look at that? That's strange, Shooting stars don't appear often around here." Lea said. He seemed very surprised.

I looked at him.

"Really?"

He nodded.

I lowered my arm and turned to a multi-colored stone path in front of me and began to slowly walk away. Lea snapped his head over to me.

"Where you going?" he asked.

I sighed." Back to Isa, he sent me to come get you."

Lea scoffed." So now you take orders from your boyfriend?"

I froze and gave Lea a confused look.

"I wouldn't say it was an order," I said shaking my head."And he's not my boyfriend Lea, why would you even say that?"

Lea's expression went cold and he looked at the ground. His hands turned to fists and they rested on both sides of his body.

"Don't lie to me, I know something is up with you two. I saw you two kissing earlier and I just knew that you two had something In-between the friendship. Don't even say you didn't like him kissing you because I knew you liked It." Lea said angrily.

The wind Whistled in the air as we remained condemned Into silence. My hair swayed In the wind and my feet remained concreted to the ground, unable to be moved. I could feel a slight pain In my chest. Perhaps this Is how it feels to have a friend knowing your secret.

"Lea," I muttered quietly."Don't say that, I am a friend just as much as I am to Isa to you. I don't know why you would even say that."

I saw a red glow come from Lea's chest and the red orb of light appeared and it floated towards me. Lea tried grabbing the light but kept missing.

"Look Kid, I will say this now: You do not fight with his majesty In my presence. Is that clear?" The light guardian yelled.

"Majesty?" I question.

The light flickered.

" Lea Is a lone descendent of the Shin Kurea clan. They are also descendants of older generations of demons. Demons In earlier time periods were to respected and treated like royalty to all spectators of the land. Population counts flourished In numbers through the years. But that was all until fifteen years ago our numbers began to decrease and soon enough clans began to cease. You see, Lea isn't just a survivor of his clan, He's a demon king from his kind and I am to make sure nobody gets In his way of duties as heir to the throne." The guardian explained.

Lea a king of demons, my best friend, now threatening to rid me from his path. If only, somehow, I'd be able to convince or to stop him. Tears slowly clouded my eyes and I looked at Lea mostly, his expression hadn't change.

"I can't believe you never told me or Isa this. But why do you hold your duties against me? Can't you for once stop to think who you are putting close to the line?" I asked, my breathing grew harder as I was close to losing my cool.

Lea Looked at the light.

"Enough Kairo, you don't need to go further on her." Lea said sternly. The light had then backed away and disappeared.

Lea walked up to me.

"Look, this is hard for you to take In and With the whole Isa thing, don't worry about it. I understand how ruthless I'm being towards you, and I know, i'm sorry," He placed his hand on my shoulder.

"But you should disappear from us both for now so I wouldn't have to kill you,"

I backed away slowly and turned. Lea's face saddened.

"I'm sorry." Lea said.

I Looked down and Tears began to stream down my face. I pushed him away from me and began to quickly walk.

"Just stay away from me you ass. I will make sure I disappear away from you. Learn how I will feel!" I had screamed at him and ran into the darkness.

Then Lea stood watching, as his friend left him alone. Both hurt and relived, he had buried his feelings away and straightened up and began to walk to the festival booths and began to enjoy the festivities.

The moon lit the sky and thus finalizing the promise of disappearance.

The faith in one's heart can burn as much as their loathing to an other's heart. But to such as wish a friend away Is much different.

Lea stood at a fountain by the booths and looked for Isa. His arms crossed and he had changed.

His best friend, now without knowing, had disappeared.

Forever.

I leaned on the base of the clock tower as I looked at a orb of red light at the palm of my hand; my guidance, my loss.

"Kairo, why have you made me wish her away?" I asked.

The light flickered.

"Because kid, she's bad news for your throne."
