Chapter 18: Shadow and Flame

Ethan POV

The ground cracked and fire gushed out of it. What we saw next was a scene of a lifetime, large fire monsters came out of the soil. TWO OF THEM!!

The two beasts had skin like lava and they burned bright. They were all 30 feet tall and reeked of shadow and flame. They had wings of fire and in their hands were fire swords. They had horns on their head (which looked like a snake head) and they had a mane of their back which was made of fire.

The vampires looked at the monsters and started to run away, James himself I could say was afraid. The monsters were too big and looked to strong.

"Didn't I say I can control fire and shadow?" Daron looked towards us and asked. We all smiled, because we had such a strong creature in our command.

The two beasts walked towards the evil vampires, with swords of fire. They flapped their large wings and stomped on many of the vampires. They roared out and then breathe out horrifically hot flames. The two of them killed many vampires, because they were fire, and fire kills vampires.

"RETREAT!" James shouted as they all went away from there. The two monsters chased them away flying in the sky. 

We all rejoiced, because we had such a strong creature in our possession. But Daron did not look happy, and then we too looked afar to see another vampire, but he was much more stranger than them all, with a strange skin, I could tell that no doubt he was very old.

The evil vampire raised his hands and spoke an incantation, and suddenly a bolt of lightning fell from the sky and destroyed one of the fire demons. We all were shocked, because they were not the strongest monsters we had.

The evil vampire laughed evil, Daron looked at him and growled like a dragon. "Lorenzo, kill him."

The other fire demon moved towards him with his fire sword in hand, almost about to kill him, but the evil vampire teleported away from there. We looked around but he was nowhere to be found.

"HELP! ETHAN!" I heard Alice call me, and when I looked around, the evil one had her in his grip. It made me really angry and I charged at him, but his magic was strong. He created a force field to stop me and the other wolves from attacking.

"Surrender or she dies." He said. We had no other choice but to surrender, I won't be planning to lose her.

We stepped away, but Daron looked at him and made an angry face. The evil vampire laughed, I could see a dome of protection around him that let no one pass. I had to do something, or else she would die.

And then, I heard footsteps and saw a silver sword around, it was Cairdaer the elf. The evil vampire felt his presence and drew out his own blade. They fought each other for some time.

I knew well that if there was anyone that could beat a vampire, then that was someone of his age, and elves I know are immortal and he looked no younger than 6000 years.

They fought for some time and Alice was set free. We kept on looking as they fought for very long time. Cairdaer with his spells destroyed the clouds and the light of the afternoon came to us. The vampire couldn't stand the sun and they died in contact, and so they all escaped from here.

"VICTORY" I heard one of my companions shout as we hailed up, we had won.

James POV

"You never told me you were fighting against the dracorians." Lord Aramastus told me.

"Dracorian??" I asked because I had no idea what dracorians were.

"You fool! They are ancient kings, controllers of shadow and flame. They are immensely powerful." Aramastus said to me.

"Sorry my lord, I had no idea that Daron was someone other than that."

"Any you're fighting elves??!!!! Do you know how powerful elves are? We all could be killed by them." He said to me.

"My lord, we must find a way to kill them."

"This time, stick to my plan." Lord Aramastus told me.

'What do you have in mind?" I asked.

"To kill a snake, cut off its head, and you know whom to kill." He said.

"The four of them?" I asked.

"Yes." he said. "Once we kill those four, then we will go on with the elf and the dracorian, and then the rest."

"Yes.' I said smirking.
