I was assigned to Shadow army along with Logan, Kayla, and Ankith. Hayden is really tough, but kind in her own way. I guess it's because she just wants us to be ready for battle. The first lesson was mainly on how to hold your weapon. Ankith said some smart alack stuff about already learning how to use your weapon, and she threw her dagger at him, skimming his ear. As it turn's out, Shadow army is a group of elite hunters. It's our job to watch, listen, protect if we need to, and kill only if needed. For the most part, Braylon, Jack, Jaclyn, or Nate com down with a note and give to someone (normally me, I often sit outside of the banner, if Hayden lets me.) Then they run it down, pass it to Hayden, she'll leave and come back sometimes with a treat. Once, after I managed to summon an 'lion' (thats what Hayden called it) after Ankith touched my notebook, she traded for a loaf.
"This isn't just any loaf, it's called sweet bread. It's a our specialty. Here, take a piece."
The warm loaf broke, tearing the sweet icing on top.
"It's better than it looks!" I say after stuffing a piece in my mouth. And we now have a slice when ever something big happens.
"Alright, so listen. That means get down here." Once we were all gatered around Hayden, what she said caught me by surprise.
"Jenna said Daniel could come down here. Yes, he was assigned to Shadow. You three are in charge of teaching him how to use himself. I'll train him on everything else. One last thing, we have a mock battle against Oceanic in 5. Suit up and meet me back here in 2."
As we dash done the hall, Ankith puffs out, "Well, we'd better get ready, huh?!" Logan, Kayla, and I all grin as we dress out and make our way back up the steps.
