I'm only sixteen, so obviously this is a ways away, but I've got a plan for all my transition stuff. First, I'm going to get my name legally changed as soon as I turn eighteen. I'll petition for the change as soon as I turn eighteen so that hopefully it'll be changed before I graduate from high school. If not before that, at least it'll hopefully be changed before college.
I'm also going to try and get on T as soon as I can after I turn eighteen. Like, right away, I'm going to go to my therapist and be like "ey, right me a letter." It'll take a while, but at least I'll be a bit more passable when I go into college. As soon as I go into college, as well, since I'll be staying in the dorms, I'll talk to a counselor or admissions advisor and hopefully be able to stay in the guys' dorm.
Meanwhile, I'll start saving now so that I can get top surgery ASAP once I'm in college. It'll take some time to save up that much, but at least I'll be ahead of the game. I'd like to have a good ten-fifteen thousand dollars in savings first so that I can be sure that I'll get the procedure I want, and be able to afford all of the extra fees in case my insurance won't cover anything. I refuse to take a loan on it. I won't spend money that I don't have.
Gahhh, I can see it so clearly in my future, but it feels so far away. I can't waitttt!!!
