It was the beginning of winter in Paris, and Marinette spent the day working at her parent's bakery taking down autumn decorations and putting up new winter themed ones that she made herself.
"Oh Tikki! Do you think Adrien will like these? I know he doesn't really like Christmas after his mom disappeared but I do hope he still enjoys the winter season." Marinette said, making sure her parents were out of the room before she started talking to her kwami.
"Silly Marinette! Adrien will love them!" Tikki said encouragingly as she flew around the shop, collecting any stray paper autumn leaves that she found.
"Ok well I hope your right, I only have an hour before he comes to pick up the cake for Nino's surprise party later," Marinette said, smiling widely as she thought about how her sunshine boy would react too seeing her decorations. Tikki helped to hang a string of paper snowflakes over the bakeries' door. She then turned to see Marinette freaking out as the theater of her mind started to question the probability of Adrien liking her decorations.
"Ooohhhh!!! What if he doesn't like them!!! What if he thinks their horrible and thinks I'm a failure of a designer!?!?! Alya spent the past two days bragging about how cool my decorations are going to look! What if they don't meet his acceptations!?!? What if...."
"Marinette calm down!" Tikki flew over to her chosen, "getting worked up about this isn't going to change anything. Besides your decorations are great! He is sure to love them!"
"Marinette, who are you talking too?" Mrs. Cheng walked into the bakery carrying the cake. Tikki quickly darted into Marinette's purse before the happy baker could see her.
"Oh nothing," Marinette lied, "That looks perfect Mama! Adrien should be here soon to pick it up."
"Speaking of that boy, here he is now," Mrs. Cheng said with a smile as the bakery door open and a certain green eyed model walked in.
"Hey Marinette!" Adrien looked around the bakery, "whoa these are really cool decorations!"
"T-t-thanks A-Adrien!" Marinette's blush was redder than Nathaniel's hair. Adrien nodded and blushed slightly. He then payed for the cake and was on his way.
Mr. Dupain walked in and stood behind his wife. "Dang," he whispered, "we also had him."
Mrs. Cheng smiled, "Ships are like bread sweety, they take time to rise."
