~Jeremiah~

High school is just another bad dream that lasts four years. Going to that hell of a place and having to deal with my popularity and the girls that follow me every where I go. Of course I'm popular. I am a football player, got tons of girlfriends, and anything you can ever imagine. Though sometimes, I admitt I'm cocky. Either way, I still have to get up and go. I took my time on my hair today since it's officially a new school year and every one is looking forward on seing the one and only Jeremiah Wayne. I got my car keys, went to the garage and started the engine. I decided to get some coffee since I'm still pretty asleep. I parked my car right in front of the cafe and hurriedly went inside. There I saw Ethan Mccray with his girlfriend, Dian Reed. Ethan is part of the football team, which obviously means were friends.

"Hey," I told Ethan who was wearing a friendly grin.

"What's up, Bro?" he replied pulling Dian closer to him.

"Nothing really. Just getting some morning coffee"

"Oh! Alright," he said as he went up the counter and started getting his order.

"We should get Kayla some coffee too," Dian exclaimed. "She loves caramel macchiato"

"Alright. -and one caramel macchiato," Ethan ordered.

Kayla. It sounds so familiar.

I finally got my coffee and drove to school. Singing along with the radio, I reached the school parking lot. I found a parking spot and I saw Ethan and Dian walking hand in hand towards the school. I got out of the car looking for Tristan Adams, my best friend, and then I saw her. Kayla Stacey Claire Smyth. For a moment I remembered her. Kayla who was so friendly. The girl that had hilarious catch phrases that I tried to copy but failed to. The girl who suddenly ignored me after sophomore year. The girl who secretly made me happy when I'm down. I tried talking to her during our junior year but she acted like she didn't know me. Like she was talking to a stranger. I guess we are strangers now. Her eyes looked lonely, mixed with longing. I smiled at her but the moment I did, she looked away. I watched her as my smile faded. Long black hair and small slender body. She's like a small doll. Small but irresistibly cute.

"Jeremy!"

I rolled my eyes. "Jeremiah! How many times have I told you not to call me Jeremy, Jaylene?"

Jaylene grabbed my hands and put herself in my arms. I tried to take my hand away but she wouldn't budge. She had to bring her fellow cheerleader devils with her. They started giggling.

"How many times do I have to tell you that I'm calling you Jeremy?" Jaylene answered, winking.

Just then, Tristan and some other footall players came up to me, which practically saved my life from these girls.

"Ey, Wayne! What's up man?" Tristan said.

We did our handshake - not the girly handshake- and headed the school entrance. The devil was still in my arms. I pretended to get something from my backpack and finally got my arms free from her. We got our homeroom classes just in time before the warning bell rang. I told Tristan to meet me in the cafeteria and we seperated ways since our classes were different. I went to my homeroom class. Room 205. There it was- a mixture of nerds, jocks, emos, etc. But only one person had my eye. Black top, dark jeans, teel button down shirt and those worn out black converse that seemed to have been through a lot. Kayla Smyth.

She still hasn't looked up from what she was doing. Seems like she's drawing. Something loud crashed and that took her attention. She looked up her eyes met mine and everything seemed to have stopped. The only missing thing was music. Her cheeks turned red and I flashed a cocky grin. Then she frowned at me, an adorable frown. She went back to what-ever-she-was-doing project and ignored me. I went towards her wanting to annoy her. I thought about sitting next to her and start talking about random stuff. Maybe I'll be able to learn more about her by doing that and we could be friends again. It was a perfect plan. But there had to be something that ruins the perfect plan and it was called Brent Williams. He is also a jock like me but he was never my friend. I had to sit in the seat directly in back of Kayla since that's the closest one to her. I wanted her to see me and I wanted to see her cheeks flush red again. But I had another plan. I pulled a lock of her hair gently. She looked up and sighed. I pulled it again. Thats when she turned around and said-

"What do you want, Jeremiah Wayne?!"

Author's note:

This chapter is co-written by the amazing Dayrin F. There might be a few chapters where she co-writes, or even make her own chapter.

I have this really bad habit of making long names for my characters.

Hope you liked it.
