Chapter 5: If This was a Movie

{3 weeks later}

Things have been rough in school. All these tests and quizzes have been killing me. Today is Friday and this stressful week will finally end. Afterschool, Dian, Ethan, Andrew, Alliah and I decided to go to The Grove and just have fun. I met Dian and Ethan at the school parking lot but we had to wait for Andrew who was running late. I was feeling like a third wheel so I decided to just listen to my music. Sometimes music is my only escape. It's like a friend to me and I don't really know what I'll do if one day my hearing fades.

Andrew finally arrives in what seems like forever. We got in the car and headed towards Alliah's school. There was a heated conversation on which movie to watch, Dawn of the Planets of the Apes or Lucy. Ethan and Andrew wanted to watch Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, while Dian wanted Lucy. "Kayla, what do you want?

"ughh... How to Train Your Dragon 2." I answered Ethan, grinning. I mean why not? It was great. I've actually seen the movie already but I just wanted to annoy them.

"Seriously!" Dian said, quite frustrated.

"I'll go for... Lucy!" I said since I didn't want Dian to get mad at me. I actually wanted to watch both movies but  they had to ask me to pick one, which I really don't like doing, especially if I like both. Dian smiled to my answer and I smiled back at her. We arrived in front of Alliah's school. She was talking to some of her school friends. Andrew opened the window and yelled, "ALLIAHHHHHH!" She said a few words to her friends and started to walk towards us.

"Hi Guyzzzzzz," she said as she got in the car. I was squishes between Andrew and Alliah now.

"Alli! Which movie do you want to see? Dawn of the Planet of the Apes or Lucy? Dian asked cheerfully. "Kayla and I picked Lucy."

"THAT'S CHEATING! OF COURSE SHE'LL PICKED WHAT YOU GIRLS PICKED," Ethan complained in frustration. Andrew nodded while Dian just smiled at Ethan then stuck her tongue out. We are such kids.

Alliah laughed. "You know me so well Ethan! I'll go for Lucy."

"YAYYY! GIRL POWER!" Dian said. Ethan and Andrew groaned.

We reached The Grove in a few minutes. It was almost 4 p.m so we hurried to the movie theater since we only had a few hours until we were supposed to be home. Dian and my parents are strict so all of us are affected by it. We entered the movie theater and the smell of pop corn embraced me. I want popcorn! I looked at the beautiful theater of The Grove. I really liked the way this theater is structured. It looks like a small mansion with really cool stairs. The stairs is what I liked the most about it. "UGHHH." I snapped my head towards Dian.

"I guess we're gonna have to see Dawn of the Planet of the Apesss!" Ethan said laughing as he and Andrew did a high five. Dian rolled her eyes. I looked at the board where it shows all the movie showtimes Dawn of the Planets of the Apes is showing in 10 minutes while Lucy is showing in an hour. Oh well... were gonna have to watch what's showing earlier.

We all got our tickets and seats. We got our popcorns and Slurpies, and then went in the theater. I sat next to Alliah who sat next to Andrew. He was already eating his popcorn like there was no tomorrow. Ethan and Dian sat next to each other. There were 5 empty seats next to me, which I really hoped would stay empty even just the one right beside me. The advertisements started and then the lights dimmed. The movie started.

"Stop eating my popcorn, you fatty!" Alliah hissed after a few minutes in the movie. Andrew already finished his popcorn and started munching on Alliah's. I laughed silently. I was getting full on the popcorn so I just gave it to Andrew who gave me a huge smile. After a minute or two, a guy and 2 girls sat at the last 3 seats of the row. I was really praying that no one sits next to me. I just kept my attention to the movie until 2 more guys arrived. One of them sat next to me. GREAT. One of the girls stood up and sat next to the guy sitting next to me. I moved closer to Alliah so that I wasn't that close to the guy. He was unfortunately still close so it really didn't work. The guy had a strong scent, not like a bad scent but one that basically says I'M A MAN! He looked quite familiar... but I just kept my attention in the movie. The guy suddenly moved towards me. He was trying to move away from the girl next to him since she was trying to get all lovey dovey with him. I glanced at him and tried to see who he is even if I can't really see him that well. He looked at me as he's trying to get the girls hand of his arms.

"Sorry," He said. His voice... It was deep, manly... and recognizable. I looked at him and the girl still clinging in his arms.

"Jeremy! I'm tired," the girl said trying to snuggle with him. Jeremy... Jeremy?

The guy looked back at the girl and groaned in frustration, then looked back at me. I was still looking at him. The movie screen flashed white making everything quite visible. That's when I saw who he was. Jeremiah.

I added Maddi Jane's cover of If This was a Movie since she did a great job.  

It was quite a short chapter but the next one will have more stuff going on.
