Twenty Five

Garroths Pov

I woke up late from the at night to the sound of banging at my front door. I had slept for a majority of today. It was probably Travis coming back from where ever he was.I stood up still being cautious as it could also be a burglar.
I walked over to the door and unlocked it before opening it while rubbing my eyes.
"Hey" He said.
"...... Hey."
"Any chance I can stay here tonight it's pretty cold outside."
"Yeah yeah yeah of course."

I let him in slowly. He laid his suit case down as I gave the feature that he could sit down.

"So um how's work?" I asked.
"Got fired, well more so quit so someone who really needed the job could keep it."
"That was nice of you. What brings you back here then?"
"......... Just came back I guess."
"Alright..."
"That's a pretty nice jacket," he said pointing to the coat rack.
"Oh it's not mine."
"Oh....." A look I couldn't decipher appeared on is face. " who's is it?"
"Travis's, he's in town for a little and is staying here."
It was now replaced with a look if somewhat relief.
"Thank you for letting me stay on such short notice."
"It's nothing, très is ended up calling me from aphmaus at 3 am when I found out he needed a place to stay."
"Oh, typical Travis. So what have you been up to?"
"Nothing really.... So how's life over there? Meet any new people?"
"Not really..."
"I see.."
Silence was among us as it was an awkward and tense atmosphere.
"So..... Uh never mind. I think I'm just going to go back to sleep. You can sty in your old old room. Have a nice night."
I stood up and walked back to my room. I closed the door and sat on the edge of my bed. I heard foot steps before they stopped and I flopped backwards.

"Knock knock"

"Come in?"
"Sorry to bother you but I um....... I need an extra blanket! Yeah an extra blanket."
"Oh yeah they're in the basement where they've always been. I'll go bran one for you."

We both walked down the stairs in silence as I grabbed one of the blankets.

"Here you go."
He looked at it for a moment before taking it. "Thank you..." He looked kind of sad.
"This probably isn't my once to step in after all this but is everything alright you seem kind of sad."
"Well..... That's because I am."
"Oh..."
"I'm sad about a lot of things but mainly...... Garroth I'm really sad about you."
"Me?"
"Yeah........... We were best friends. Now when I come back after so long it's like we barely know each other. That's kind of my fault. I neglected you for the sake of some stupid job."
Things got deep pretty quickly.
"Don't blame yourself. Things sometimes don't last forever. It just so happened to be that we were one of them."
His eyes told a story in two quick flashes. It was quick but sheiks the two hearts he held braking. Both mine and his.
"Maybe you're right.... I didn't want this to happen. But I guess it did so goodnight Garroth."
"Yeah."

He started walking away as I closed the closet door with a sigh.

I could practically here the bid as of how fast he whipped around.
"Oh who am I kidding Garroth! I'm not ok with this! I can't just except the fact that we're no longer best friends, I just can't except the fact that you and are done! I can't go to sleep thinking everything is fine! I came back for you Garroth and it brakes my heart and I know it's braking yours too for us to be like this! Garroth I want my best friend back..... I want you back...."
"I couldn't have put it any better then you just did......"

We didn't move. It was like time had frozen us still. The whole wide world has seemed to disappear as we both waited for the other to say something.

"Remember when you let me say with you back in college... Because I was homeless due to Dante and Travis burning down half of the apartment?"
"Yeah i do..."
"Remember when I thought you were cheating on me with Aaron?"
"Definitely, those were some dark days."
"Yeah, that's how I got these," he said looking down at his arm.
"We were both fools, you especially for harming such a beautiful body."
"I guess. I was also a fool for believing you'd do such a thing though."
"Remember when I jumped to conclusions on that text you were sending to your sister?"
"Yeah then ten minutes later we told the others we were dating."
"Remember the carnival! I never thought I'd see you so sick after that ufo thing ride."
"Yep, or way back in high school remember when we had a sleep over the same night as Zane had one with Travis. That was the sassiest emoiest over protectiveist night ever."
"Or how storms kept happening and we were always left alone together."
Through out that conversation we had gradually gotten closer and closer until we were right in front of each other.
"Remember when we had our first kiss?"
"Yeah, I had a dream that you tried to kiss me then it turned into a nightmare. I woke up and you were there, then after a conversation then I got the guts and ended up kissing you."
"Looking back on it I wish I had the guts to make the first move."
"Looks like I'm the champion then."
"Laurence?"
"Yeah Garroth?"
"I don't think I'm ready to say it's done."
"I don't think I ever will be."
"Video games?"
"Hell yeah."

Ok so as you can probably tell this book shall come to close soon. (Not soon soon but eventually) And that is a sad thing I know. But! This is where the important announcement comes in.... I am making..... Another book! This will not have any relation to the ro'meaves Casanovas and the ro'meaves lost hearts. It takes place in the P.D.H timeline but!
It's in an AU.

Which....

I shall not reveal just yet. 

But I was really proud of it and I'm hoping it'll be like nothing you've ever seen before in an AU.
