Christmas was fun, even when snow didn't fall. Rain, just as always, fell to the ground of Forks as I sat at home. The tree was up, lit, and presents littered the bottom of it. I sat on the couch, waiting for Farley to wake up to open presents. I was still a kid at heart, even if I hated my own sister.
Open your door. I have a present for you. Renesmee's text rang through my phone, and I couldn't help but jump at the noise so early in the morning. Well, it was seven o'clock, and I had been finding myself this way recently.
Moving to the door I was met with the smiling face of Renesmee Cullen, her hair pulled outside of her raincoat. A present was in her hands and I invited her inside, where she pulled down the hood of her jacket. She was just as dazzling as ever, making me hesitate before i continued.
She began to hand me the present, but I pulled her into the living room where our tree sat. She giggled lightly, rolling her eyes. There, I let her hand me the present.
The present was inside of a plain red bag, and tissue paper lined the top.
"I didn't think about getting you a present," I frowned as I looked down at it. I always forgot presents, as my friends often did too. I wasn't used to having some care enough about me to think about gifts.
"No worries, I don't need presents," she lightly touched my hand to tell me, but I still lightly frowned up at her. She moved her eyes to the present and I opened it with enthusiasm.
Inside were decorations for my room, and I couldn't help but smile. We had been in Forks for a while now, and I had yet to decorate my room. It was pathetic, really, but I had been spending much of my time at Renesmee's instead of my own, anyhow. It was touching for her to remember such a detail.
"Thank you," I smiled, nearly crying from it. She pulled me into a hug, her chest in my face. She was warm and smelled just the same, I felt I could stay like that forever.
"You invited her to Christmas?" Farley's voice ruined my moment, and I let go with an apologetic look. She seemed okay with it, but I turned to Farley before I could let myself get lost in her eyes.
"She came to give me a present, get over it," I snapped at her, while she walked out of the room. I thought about throwing up my middle finger behind her, but Renesmee's presence kept me from it.
"I'm sorry for her," I looked back to her, where she gave an apologetic smile.
"No need to apologize, I have to get home, anyway. Hope you have a nice day," she smiled with her thought words, and I led her out the door, watching her pull out of the driveway. I wished my family was as connected as her own.

"Where is everyone?" I asked on a mid January morning. The sun was shining through the windows of the cafeteria, and Renesmee and I were the only ones sitting at the usually full table.
"Hunting, since it's sunny outside," she shrugged, pulling out her phone to play with. She had explained what hunting meant for her family earlier in the month, not long after she told me her family's secret. She still had yet to mention the second half of her statement.
"I get hunting, but the sunny part not so much," I admitted, taking a bite of my sandwich. I felt better eating when they weren't there, it turned out. I wondered idly how food tasted to them.
"I'll get them to show you at some point, I'm here because it doesn't work for me the way it does for them," she explained and I nodded. My imagination ran wild with ideas.
-
"So you're telling me y'all fucking sparkle," I laughed, everything about this felt unreal. I had to be in some kind of dreamland, or some weird acid trip I may have taken. I didn't have a clue as to what to expect, but it wasn't sparkling.
