I grin at my best friend Hannah. We are playing the best game ever, the Sims 3. Right now we are making a family of five, the mum Lucy, the dad Andrew, the young boy Matthew, the moody teenage boy Kyle and our favourite, the younger teenage girl Melissa. We have planned many things for these poor sims. We first intend to have the dad cheat on the mum and go off with someone else, then the family will be split up. We like making lots of dramatic stories on Sims, mainly because we're bored of the standard family stories.

"Okaay...done!" I announce as I finish Melissa. "It took a while, but the family is taking shape at last!" Hannah grins at me as I choose an empty lot to build on.

Hannah's eyes glitter as we start to make the house, a standard family house with a two car garage and a small swimming pool in the back. We spend longest on Melissa's room, adding posters and a laptop in her room.

"Come on, Hannah! I really want to get started on this family!" I moan at her, though secretly we both enjoy making the home to go with our story.

Just as we finish the house, a voice calls us down for tea. I sigh in frustration.

"NOOOOO!!! We were so close to getting this family started!" Hannah laments theatrically. I roll my eyes.

"Don't worry, I'll be over bright and early tomorrow to get it started," I reassure her. She consents and we go down to dinner, chatting about what torment we can unleash on our sims.

The next morning I am over early. When I knock on the door it is opened by Hannah's mum, Suzanne. "Sorry Rachel, Hannah had to go out to ballet early. But she shouldn't be long. Why don't you go in and wait for her?"

I thank her and skip upstairs to Hannah's room, immediately grabbing her laptop and opening up Sims. I figure that by the time I have loaded it up and started playing, Hannah would be back. Before it's finished loading, I accidentally knock it onto the floor. Suddenly, as I reach down to pick it up, it glows a fluorescent green, emitting the bright light straight at me. I feel woozy and collapse onto the bed. The last thing I see is the Sims shutting down and hear the opening music playing faintly in my head before my world blacks out.
