Chapter 23

"Sonofa-" Freed cut off as he stood up. the spell they had been working on.
He pulled his hand away from the bracelet, "It burned me. But, that means we're getting close to finishing it." Freed shook his hand and ran to Lucy's bathroom to run it under cool water.

Lucy huffed. "This is so frustrating! I wish we could just finish this already."

"We need more people if we want to hurry this up. I've been saying this for days now. If we only stay with the amount of people we have, it's only gonna take a longer. I highly suggest we do get more people at some point." Levy sat back and closed her eyes.

"If it's my place to speak.." Leo looked at Lucy for approval. She nodded, "well. In my opinion I suggest we do get more people. Like Mrs. Levy said, it would speed up the process but if we want to continue hiding this from the world then we must choose on who we want to help."

Lucy sighed once again, "Yes. But for now, let's not think about gaining more people. Let's continue on our process until we must need more help. Here, let's start again."

Freed came back to the group with a treated hand and the group continued a new circle.

"NO!" Erza sat on the guild's floor. "IT'S HAPPENING AGAIN!" Her eyes teared up. She held tight onto her head, adding pressure with her hands.

"Okay, Erza come on get up, let's take you to the infirmary." Mirajane held onto Erza's arm.

Erza wasn't moving. She refused.

"Erza, come on. It won't help being out here."

"N-no. It's too much! AH!" She screamed as another zolt went straight to her head.

Mira stood up. "Where's Laxus? Laxus!" She needed someone to help her with getting her inside.

"Laxus isn't here Mira! Neither is your brother." Cana called as she ran towards the two.

"Here, help me then."

Mira took hold of one of the Scarlet's arms as the Brunette took the other.

"Okay. One, two, three!" The two lifted her up and leaned her on their shoulders as Erza screamed as another pain squeezed her head.

They walked a few steps, trying to keep Erza in control since they knew she may pass out again.

Couple more.. they were almost to the infirmity then,

"AHHH!" Erza had another very painful squeeze take hold of her head, and she collapsed on the floor. With tears in her eyes she was dizzy and saw the darkness come over her, once again.

"Erza! Don't pass out again, come on we're almost there! Erza!" Cana shook her friend but she was already fast asleep.

A couple minutes had passed as the friends tried to get her friend up.

"I heard the yelling, what happened? What's going on?" It was none other than the Bluenette himself.

"She passed out from another blow and we can't get her to the infirmity." Mira looked up at him.

He stopped and looked at his childhood friend.

"Here. Watch out." He knelt down by her, carefully placing his arms under her he picked her up. "Which room?"

"The third one, right down there." Mira pointed to the room door. "Go bring her in there I'll be right back." As she ran off, Cana and Jellal got into the room. Cana had opened the door for Jellal.

Slowly he rested her on the bed and sat down in the chair next to it.

Cana placed the sheets over her friend and placed a cool rag on her forehead as he silently watched.

Jellal moved the hair out of Erza's face. "This is pretty much like that day in the hospital. It's sad, really." He rested his hand at his side and sat back in the chair. "I wish I could've helped her. If nothing happened that day, this may not have been happening now. I know it." Jellal had accepted the fact that he should be helping with Erza more. He hadn't been avoiding her as much and tried his best to keep from breaking down.

"You really love her, don't you?" Cana had finished helping her friend and sat across from him.

He kept his gaze on Erza and chuckled. "Of course."

It hurt and warmed Cana's heart at the same time watching the moment. She wished she could help this man with his love sick heart. She wished she could give Erza her memory back because she knew she had loved him as well.

The door silently opened as Mira walked in with a small bag.

"How is she?" She placed the bag on the counter.

"She's fine now. She just needs rest." Jellal looked up at the mage.

"Good." Mira took out medicine from the bag and a small shot.

"Wait, what's that for?" Jellal winced at the needle.

"Don't worry. It's nothing bad. It'll numb the pain when she wakes up." Mira looked up at Jellal and smiled.

He nodded as Mira slowly placed the needle in her arm and injected only a small amount of medicine.

Jellal had turned away from the sight. He was never a fan of needles.

Mira had finished giving Erza her medicine and was packing up the rest.

"I'm heading back out now. I still have to do my job, after all."

"Alright." Jellal turned to look back at Mira.

"I'll be out soon too, Mira." Cana sat up in her chair.

"Okay. Take care of her for me." Mira smiled towards Jellal and walked out.

Cana had waited for Mira to walk out then spoke in a quiet tone for Jellal to hear.

"Hey. I think I know why Erza has been going into panic mode lately."

Jellal cautiously looked at her, realising the sudden change in tone he silently nodded to continue.

"Well... Had you noticed that Lucy, Lev and Freed have been gone a lot lately? And whenever they're gone that's usually when she has these little spurts. Levy also had that bracelet you two had found on your mission. I'm not positive it means anything, but isn't it a little suspicious?"

Jellal took it all in. She may have a point.

"So, you're saying they may be up to something?"

Cana nodded and put her index finger finger to her lips. "Our little secret, kay?" And she got up and walked out of the room.

He thought about it a little more then turned his attention back to Erza.

He smiled to him self.

'At least I get to see her everyday.'

He flipped the rag over on her forehead so it'd be cooler for her then move the hair out of her face.

He blushed.

She'd probably tell him to scram if she woke up and noticed what he was doing.

He looked toward her face, once again.

"I'm.. still sorry.. for everything, Erza."
He stood up, placed his hand on her's, and gently planted his lips onto her cheek.

He moved back and let out a relieved sigh that she had not woken up.

"I promise to make it up to you. Somehow, I will." And with that, he left the sleeping Erza and went back to his room.
