A Thousand Years

Heart beats fast
Colours and promises
How to be brave?
How can I love when I'm afraid to fall?
But watching you stand alone,
All of my doubt suddenly goes away somehow.

...

I have died every day waiting for you
Darling, don't be afraid.
I have loved you for a thousand years
I'll love you for a thousand more

And all along I believed I would find you
Time has brought your heart to me
I have loved you for a thousand years

I'll love you for a thousand more

A week had passed since Barry had woken up from his coma and he had finally been released from the hospital and he was back home with Caitlin by his side. Caitlin had moved in with the Allens while her father flew back to New York to settle his and Carla's divorce.

The couple had been watching movies in bed all day to pass the time. So far, they had yet to discuss their future and their wedding but deep down they both knew that they wanted it to be small and intimate, only close friends and family invited, so it could truly be their day.

Besides, they didn't want to get married until after they graduated.

They also hadn't had any physical relations yet which meant that there was definitely a scuttle amount of tension between them.

"How are you feeling?" Caitlin asked for about the hundredth time today.

"Seriously Cait, I feel fine," Barry teased.

"I can't help it. I worry about you, I love you and I hated seeing you like that and I can't lose you again. Not now, not ever," Caitlin replied seriously.

"I remember. I heard you when you said all of that to me," he stated, cuddling her closer for extra comfort for them both.

"Ugh, don't remind me," she complained, feeling embarrassed about her love speech that she made when he was in a coma and he had heard all of it.

"Well, I thought that it was adorable. And you know I feel the same way about you. While you were gone I was miserable. I love you and I'm not going anywhere," Barry replied, kissing her head.

"Promise?" she asked.

"Pinkie promise," he teased, making her giggle.

"I love you too. Hence why I decided to marry you," Caitlin replied.

"Speaking of us getting married, I feel like we should start planning for it. Finding a date and stuff. I want you to have the wedding that you have always dreamed of," Barry proposed.

"The only thing I need for it to be perfect is you and me," she replied.

"Then why not do it now?" Barry asked. "I know we decided to wait until after we graduate but we are both adults now. We graduate in a few weeks anyway and I don't see why it matters whether we get married now or in a few months,"

"You mean elope?" Caitlin replied. "Okay. But let's do it tomorrow I want at least one day to prepare. I need a dress and Iris to be my bridesmaid,"

"Okay, should we go tell everyone?" Barry asked.

"Yeah,"

...

A few hours passed and Caitlin had called Iris and asked her to meet her in town. Outside the bridal shop, but Iris did not know why she was here, only that it was important and she must come at once.
