When you're gone
The pieces of my heart are missing you
When you're gone
The face I came to know is missing too
When you're gone
The words I need to hear to always get me through the day
And make it OK
I miss youWhen You're Gone- Avril Lavigne

Caitlin woke up in tears. A few days had passed since her parents had dragged her back to New York and now the pain of being away from Barry was worse than ever before.
It felt like thousands of sharp, deadly knives were slowly stabbing her heart over and over again. They were so close and now she will never see him ever again. The very thought of never seeing Barry again made her sick to her stomach and the tears fall even harder. Without Barry Allen, there was no Caitlin Snow.
Carla Snow had confiscated her phone and laptop. There was no communication between them only space that felt bigger than before. It hurt so much the pain was almost unbearable.
To make matters worse, she had been forced to spend almost all of her spare time with Hunter. Despite that fact that she was engaged her mother was still trying to set her up. It was disgusting.
Caitlin had never hated anyone more than she hated her mother right now. If she could even call her that. No mother would do this to their child. Not if they loved them. The only thing that Carla Snow love is herself and her money. Her soul was as cold as ice.
As Caitlin sat up and wiped away the tears that were falling from her eyes, she glanced at her alarm clock and saw the time 2:17 AM.
Slowly Caitlin lay back down, resting her head on her pillow, shaking with sadness. She found herself wrapping her arms around her body to hug herself the way Barry did to comfort her when she had a nightmare or was crying or just upset. The hands on either shoulder. Her left ring finger housing her engagement ring and her right hand wearing her promise ring.
As she gazed at her promise ring, she felt her locket hanging from her neck. The locket that she never took off. These three items of jewelry were three items that she never took off, items that she prized the most and most importantly items that Barry had bought her.
First the promise ring. Then the locket. Finally, the engagement ring.
The promise ring he had given her on their second-year anniversary. And the locket on their third-year anniversary.

Barry and Caitlin were on a date on this sunny afternoon in Central City. Their second-year anniversary had come around so fast and honestly, it had been the greatest two years of their lives.
"I have something I wanted to talk to you about," Barry stated, taking Caitlin's hand and leading her to a nearby bench in the shade of a tree. "Cait, I love you and I want you to have this. Just to remind you how I feel about you," Barry started, taking out a promise ring and sliding it onto her finger.
"Oh Barry, I love it! I love you," Caitlin replied happily, gazing from the ring to him with a wide smile and flushed cheeks. She pecked his lips then rested her head on his shoulder in contentment, feeling the soft summer breeze around her. Today had truly been a magical day.
"Cait,"
"Hmmm"
"I will love your forever, you know that right. And I promise to love you and look after you and care for you forever. I think I want to be with you for the rest of my life," Barry stated awkwardly, trying to convey his deep love for her in a few sentences.
