Chapter Five: Everybody's got issues

"Oh, really you do... Well, I will take a Mimosa", Megan said putting in her supposed to been regular drink order. Unique & I decided to have the same, but Angie just always has to over-do it with a Hennessey on the rocks. The young waiter snickled a little at the sound of Hennessey in the morning I guess and Angie hit the roof!

Look, little GIRL (stressing the girl part), until you become a woman and deal with real life issues, start paying some bills and have to deal with a cheating husband and bad ass kids I suggest you do your damn part-time job and keep your laughs to yourself, OKAAAY!

The girl was completely embarrassed, she softly spoke, "Ma'am, I'm so sorry, your drinks will be right up, I will give you ladies a moment to decide your meals; again I apologize for my rudeness.

"She better had apologized, because I was going to rip her a new one," Angie said still clearly pissed off.

Megan just sat there looking so agitated but didn't speak a word as she normally does when Angie acts this way. They get along, but only really for the sake of me and our friendship. I couldn't do anything but laugh as I glanced around the table at my completely mismatched set of friends. We were all different, but that's really what made us click and love each other just the same.

Unique was always the peacemaker, so she tried changing the tone at the table and started talking about the latest gossip. I wanted to ask Angie was everything okay, but I could tell this wasn't the right moment so I just let her calm down on her own, but would be sure to pull her aside later to check on her. The rest of brunch went smooth after the waiter came back with our food.

She apologized to Angie again and complemented her saying she reminded her of her favorite aunt and that's why she chuckled a bit. She stayed over at the table a little longer chatting with us and before long we were like five giddy school girls. We all went to school together except for Janice who I met a couple of years ago in court one day.

Once the waiter came back with the bill, we paid and left her a tip and headed out to the truck.

Out of nowhere, Unique started screeching, "Giiiiiiirl, did I tell you who I seen the other day at Victoria Secret and she was not with your man's brother, might I add?

" Not even giving me a moment to respond, she added.

Yes, girl! That slut Nicole, and if you could have seen the look on her face, OMG, it was priceless! I could have brought her for a penny, and on top of that the winch tried to act like she didn't recognize me, so you know I let her have it.

"You didn't!" Angie chimed in loving juicy gossip.

Yes, I did... ya'll know I don't play about cheaters and I would expect ya'll to do the same if you ever, ever caught my husband out there.

Angie started to feel some type of way for a moment, but she quickly erased the thoughts and just replied to her friend, "and... that's why I LOVE YOU! You damn right I would call him out in a hot second".

I started laughing right along with everybody and just replied, "Yeah, well I'm going to be sure to check her tomorrow at the cookout because you know E is like a brother to me. I told him that girl won't right, but he just love him some big booties."

Janice started looking a little funny, and we all became concerned.

"Everything okay?" I was the first to ask.

I'm fine; I'm going to just take it easy that's all. This baby is kicking my tail the further along I get. We all knew she had been having a rough pregnancy, but she refused to miss yet another girl's day out, so we just told her to let us know if the walking becomes too much for her at the mall.

After finally leaving the mall, I started feeling tired as we were in route back to Megan's house, but I still needed to go to Wal-mart to get the food for tomorrow. Just as we were pulling up Reggie called to remind me not to forget the charcoal and lighter fluid. I reminded the girls what to bring and said my good-byes as we all parted ways.

Finally home, I looked at the clock and it was almost seven, I noticed after walking through the door. I could tell Reggie was there from the surround sound that filled the house. He must was playing the game, but put it on pause as he heard me coming in, as I heard him ask if I needed some help.

"Yeah, can you get the rest of the bags out the car, please?" Thanks boo.

"No problem baby, I got you, just give me two minutes," he said, un-pausing the game.

I looked at him but kept my track to the kitchen and asked how his day was. He mumbled something I could barely hear, so I just started putting the food away and poured a glass of wine. I joined him in the den, catching him in the middle of texting. I sat there for a brief moment just to see if he noticed me, and when he didn't I politely cleared my throat and said,

"There is meat in the car, so I suggest you please bring the rest of the bags in soon."

Caught off guard, he grabbed the controller turning off the game and said, "I was just ready to do that baby. I just wanted to finish up this last play."

I just walked off becoming more irritated by his suspicious behavior lately, but because I've had my own thing going on, I started not to press the issue at the moment. Instead, I turned on some music, lit a few candles in the bedroom and on the sink in the bathroom and started me a hot bath, so I could relax with my glass of wine.

After about 30 minutes, Reggie came in and asked if I wanted to watch a movie with him. It shocked me for a second considering our actions towards each other lately, but I agreed anyway so I could possibly fill him out. He probably was trying to get us back on regular terms, because he hated when his boys came over and they noticed disconnect between us.

Surprisingly we hung out and actually had a good night in the house together, something we hadn't done in weeks. As we lay in each other's arm drifting to sleep, I started reminiscing on the reasons I fell so hard for him in the beginning.
