Y/N's POV

I was sitting in my favorite booth, in my favorite place, Pop's. While I was writing stories on my laptop, I heard the bell on door jingle. I turn around to see who came in, it was my best friend, Betty. Following after Betty were my other close friends, Archie, Veronica, and Kevin. Then, there was this raven-haired boy who followed. I knew that we went to the same school, we had a few mutual friends, but we never really talked to each other. He was a tall and wore a peculiar looking beanie. He looked a bit odd, in a good way though. I myself am a quite odd person. If I wasn't talking to my friends, I'd be typing away on my laptop, studying, or with my nose stuck in a book.

"Y/N!" Betty said smiling.

I waved my hand at them awkwardly, giving them a small grin.

"Can we sit?" Archie said.

"Of course!" I said looking a bit more lively.

Betty slides in the seat across me, then Archie slides in after her, then Veronica. The raven-haired boy slides in on my side sitting beside me, then Kevin sat beside him. I get a bit awkward thinking that some random guy, whom I've never met, was sitting beside me. Betty and Kevin begin to make small talk with everyone, then it grew in to a conversation. Betty notices that I wasn't talking and that I was just typing then said,

"What're you working on Y/N?"

"Just a story," I replied.

"Oh! Where are my manners. This is Jughead," Betty said referring to the boy sitting next to me.

I raised my eyebrow thinking that "Jughead" was kind of a weird name.

"You guys are pretty alike you know? You both don't talk much and you both love writing! Right Jughead?" Betty said looking at Jughead. I turned to Jughead slightly, I was surprised that I didn't notice him taking out a laptop from his bag because you saw that he was rapidly typing on his small laptop. He keeps typing until a moments later, he snapped out of some kind of trance he was in while he was typing.

"Hm? What did you say?" he said looking up from his screen to glance at Betty. Betty rolled her eyes and said,

"I said, that you and Y/N are alike because you bo-" Betty was but off by Jughead saying,

"Yeah yeah, I heard you." Jughead then looked back down at his laptop screen and continued to type. Betty stopped trying to start a conversation and mouthed "Don't mind him" to me. I felt a bit awkward after that. I decided to glance at Jughead's screen and say,

"So... What're you writing about?"

"None of your business," he said rolling his eyes.

"Geez, just trying to start some kind of conversation," I said looking back at the screen of my laptop.

"Isn't obvious that I don't wanna start a conversation with you? " he replied with a mix of annoyance and anger in his voice. I just continued typing, ignoring what he said.

"Dude, that was really rude," Archie said.

"Yeah! You just met her for pete's sake," Veronica said after.

"He probably just likes her," Kevin said "whispering" to Veronica. Everyone heard what Kevin said.

"What?" Jughead said turning to Kevin, clenching his jaw and putting a really mad expression on his face.

"Calm down! Can't you take a joke?" Kevin said leaning back.

"What the hell! Can't a guy just write in peace without getting bothered?" Jughead said.

"Jughead, if you're just gonna be an asshole, just leave," Archie said.

"Fine. Anywhere is better than here anyways," Jughead replied standing up, gathering his things. He stormed out of Pop's and walk to who knows where. I then had a nice evening with my friends. I looked at the clock on my laptop and it was already 10:00 pm.

"I better get going, it's getting pretty late," I said.

"So soon?" Betty replied.

"Yeah, I wanna wrap it up for the day," I said while putting back my laptop back in my bag. What they didn't know was the real reason why I wanted to leave. I just wanted to spend some time alone and write. When I left Pop's, I walked into the woods and headed to my favorite spot, a big rock that sat by the shore of the river. When I got nearer to the place, I noticed a boy sitting on the rock with a laptop on his lap. I walked closer see who it was, as I got closer i noticed that it was Jughead.

"Jughead?" I said furrowing my eyebrows.

"How the hell did you find me?" He said.

"Okay. First of all, I wasn't looking for you. I always go here to spend time alone. And secondly why do you have to be such such a jerk all the time?" I replied. He just rolled his eyes, not minding me.

"Look, I think we started off the wrong foot here. Can we please start over?" I said.

"Fine." Jughead replied.

"Can I sit?" I said. He nodded in agreement. I sat on the rock nudging Jughead causing him to scoot over. We both continued to type on our laptops, well, that was until he slammed close his laptop causing me to jump a bit.

"Dude! Be more careful! Laptops have feelings too you know?" I said with a stern voice, earning a chuckle from him. I saw him smile at me out of the corner of my eye. He then looked away from me and looked out at the beautiful sky. There were countless stars and the moon was full and shining a subtle light on the river. I didn't mind it too much and kept typing. Suddenly, I felt an arm rest around my shoulders. Jughead had put his arm around me! I stop typing and start to blush. I looked up at him, he was blushing too, sucking in his lips.  I closed my laptop gently and rested my head on his shoulder.

"This is a much better first impression," I said while grinning. He smiled from ear to ear and laughed a bit.

"I could get used to this" He said, pulling me closer to him.

That moment was just perfect. I could feel that this was a beginning of something new.
