I started jumping around and running around the house. After Raiden-Sama had cleaned up the blood, buried the bodies, and fixed the place we continued living in my parent’s old cottage in the woods. I was really excited.
Today was my 16th birthday and Raiden-Sama had gone into town to get me a birthday cake.
“Oh I hope he gets a vanilla one! Or cherry! Or maybe chocolate with tiny chocolate chips inside!” I said squealing with excitement.
I went outside and hung upside down from a tree branch near the house.
‘Where is he?’ I thought swinging impatiently.
“If you keep hanging upside down like that the blood will go straight to your head!” Raiden yelled from below me.
“Raiden-Sama!” I yelled happily and flipped off the tree and landed next to him. “Did you get the cake?! What took you so long?!”
“Calm down Misaki, I have it right here.” Raiden said holding up a box.
I jumped up and down clapping my hands more excited than I was before.
“Would you hold the door open for me while I carry in the cake?” Raiden asked politely.
I nodded and went to hold the door open.
(Raiden’s pic is to the side, I don’t feel like describing what he looks like.)
Raiden set the cake down and I starred at the pink box then looked at Raiden with my best puppy dog eyes.
“Did you already eat?”
I nodded.
“Go ahead.” My smile grew and I immediately opened the box.
Suddenly I was hit with purple gunk that shot out from the box.
“Ewwwww gross it’s all sticky!” I said wiping the stuff from my face and Raiden chuckled.
“A ninja must not be deceived by appearances. You’re too carefree Misaki.”
“Yeah yeah, so where’s the real cake?” I asked eagerly.
“Patience is essential.” Raiden said taking out a scroll.
He placed it on the counter and rolled it out summoning the cake back. It was a mix of all three flavors I had hoped for with a pretty rainbow frosting and ‘Happy 16th Birthday Misaki!’ written on it.
“Wow this is amazing! Thank you Raiden-Sama, thank you!” I yelled hugging my sensei.
He hugged back and went to grab us some plates. When we were done eating Raiden took out another scroll and summoned a gift.
“Here Misaki, for your 16th.” Raiden said handing me the gift.
I smiled brightly and took it before unwrapping it. There was a little white box and I opened it carefully revealing a necklace that had ‘Misaki the one of a kind ninja’ in scripted on it. I picked it up carefully and studied it some more before giving my sensei a big hug.
“I love it!”
Raiden took the necklace from me and got out of his chair.
“Hold your hair back.” Raiden said and I did exactly that.
I didn’t like listening to other people but I always did what Raiden asked me to do. After all he was there for me when I needed help the most.
Raiden put the necklace around my neck and I stood up and gave him another hug.
