I sped down the road towards the shopping centre. Father has called me and I could tell by the

Tone of his voice that something was wrong. As soon as he said My mates name I didn't wait for

An explanation, I just knew I had to get there as quick as I could. Zak didn't do well under stress

And I knew that if my father was worried then it wasn't good.

I parked quickly and raced through the shop.

'Zak?' I called as I saw my little mate sat on my fathers lap, curled so tight into his chest, his small

Frame trembling. I could hear Kasper crying too and I noticed him held tight to Zak's chest.

'Whats going on?' I looked to my father for an answer. He looked pissed. What the hell happened.

I sighed and made to take Kasper from my mate, wanting to calm my boys cries. I got close but

Zak's arms tightened round our little baby and he growled threateningly. I stood back in shock.

He'd never growled before. 'What the fuck is going on!' I growled at my father, my patience

Rapidly slipping away.

'Derek's been here.' My father spat through gritted teeth.

Shit. He was beyond pissed, he was livid. Then his words sunk in. 'What!' I roared earning a few

Whispers from customers.

My little mate whimpered as he struggled to get air into his little lungs. Taking a second to calm

Myself I spoke to my father, 'you take him home now and I'll go pay for the stuff.'

He nodded, getting to his feet, cradling Zak and Kasper to his chest, wrapping them both tight in

His arms, knowing that Zak needs to know he's safe.

'The lady is on till 22. I'll meet you at the house, here's my card.' He grumbled before leaving.

I sighed, grabbed the pram and nappy bag and quickly went to pay for our stuff.

Not again. Why does that bastard keep harassing my sons like this. My grip on the steering wheel

Tightened. Zak whimpered beside me as he gasped and gulped, forcing air into his lungs. The kid

Really couldn't handle shock. I needed to get him to calm down, but my words came out harsher

Than I intended and made it worse. Thankfully little Kasper had calmed down now and was

Looking at his dad's tear stained face with confused little eyes. He must have sensed his fathers

Discomfort because he patted Zak's red cheeks with his tiny hand as he gurgled and made noises.

I smiled at my little grandson as he calmed his dad, which made me relax a little too.

Once at the pack house I jumped out the car and grabbed Zak from his seat. He curled back into

My chest as I walked through the house. I growled at the members that glared at Zak as we walked

Past which sent them scurrying. It pisses me off that some of my pack still don't accept Zak and

His child. I'd wanted to put them in their place but Zak had stressed that he didn't want to cause

Any division in the pack and he didn't want to worry Nova with it neither. I'd reluctantly agreed.

'Micky!' I called as soon as I kicked the packs hospital wing door open.

Micky ran round from his office, startled. 'A-alpha, what,' he looked puzzled, his eyes flicked from

Me, to Zak then to Kasper and back again.

'Zak needs something to calm him down.' I stated.

Micky nodded and zipped off to get what he needed. I tried to lay Zak down on the bed but he

Whimpered and began panicking a little more. His safety net had been removed and he felt

Completely vulnerable. In the end I sat myself of the bed with my sons mate curled into my chest.

Micky came back and looked at me even more confused. I shook my head telling him not to even

Bother asking. He shrugged and tried to take Zak's arm.

The kid whimpered at Micky's touch.

'Hey Zak, buddy, it's Micky. I'm just going to give you a little something to calm you down okay? It

Won't make you sleep, it'll just help you breathe easier alright?' He gently patted Zak's knee getting

Him to calm down a little.

Zak reluctantly unwound an arm from Kasper and held it towards Micky.

'Thanks kiddo.' He praised as he injected a clear liquid into Zak's arm.

Once done Zak curled his arm back round his sleeping child and began to relax.

'How you feeling buddy?' I whispered as I rubbed circles into his small back. I felt a little easier

Now he'd finally calmed down. He turned his head sluggishly and looked up at me, his emerald

Eyes glistening.

'B-better n-now. S-sorry.' He whispered in a shaky voice.

I smiled softly at my sons mate. He returned my smile before looking back to Kasper, who now

Began to stir.

'Zak!' The hospital door burst open, making Zak jump in fright and Kasper begin to cry. I sighed.

Peace shattered.

'I feel sick,' Zak whispered as his mate came to the bedside.

Nova quickly took Kasper from Zak's arms and I ran with Zak to the bathroom. I knelt him in front

Of the toilet just in time as he emptied the contents of his stomach.

'Sshh,' I shushed him and rubbed his back softly, sitting with him until he was sure he'd finished.

Micky handed us a toothbrush and paste so Zak could freshen up before going back into his office.

'Sorry.' Zak mumbled as he curled into Nova's side as I lay him on the bed, Nova sitting next to him

With Kasper pulling his golden hair.

'Dad, what happened?'

'I don't know. Zak came hurtling towards me and refused to part from my side. He was so

Frightened he wouldn't even let me take Kasper from him. When I finally got him to talk he just

Said,' I trailed off, anger rising rapidly.

'Said what,' my son growled. A sleeping Zak stirred, clutching Nova's shirt tighter in his fist as he

Buried himself in his mates side.

'Derek.' I growled.

Nova's face changed in an instant. The love and kindness that he looked at his son and mate with

Vanished in a second and was replaced with a look that made my blood freeze.

'Call Nathan, Leo, Ricky to me now. Also get a group together. We are going to find this bastard.

Now.' He barked at me.

I was pissed that he ordered me around even though I was the alpha but his tone left no room for

Reason so I sucked in a calming breath and done what my son asked.
