They called themselves the serethians, and you could not have wished for a more curious, more intelligent, and most of all, more friendly, ally. They soaked up all the information i showed them, and began to call me the guard of the sky, in awe of the technology and information stored aboard sorrowful searcher.

I watched the return craft streak through the sky, it's capsule containing the two curious serethians as they returned home. We'd agreed, they would convince their government to allow sorrowful searcher to land and establish friendship with their race. They both thought it would not take much work to convince their leaders, with the average serethian being extremely curious, and very friendly.

Eventually, i came to understand, the serethian Culture revolved around efficiency, but this did not mean they were cold or unfriendly. For them, efficiency was working together with as many friends as possible, to make things better, stronger, and useful for everyone.

I closed the Hangar doors, and the stasis systems began to deactivate, as i woke everyone up, to tell them about our new friends. I felt Ralaith's mind wake up, slowly, after the long sleep, as she began to sense around her again. I knew her eyes were closed, but she didn't need her eyes open to know everything about the life around her. Dragons were born with off the chart Psychic abilities, Telepathic and telekinetic, to the point that dragons had long ago evolved to disable prey psychically and swoop down, to finish them off.

As the ancientals woke up, sorrowful searcher soared once more through the shining sky.

Sorrowful searcher burnt through the sky, the trails from her engine pods golden as the sun dawned over the horizon of serethia. Serethia, A large, rocky planet, with poles of large, cold tundra, not quite ice, but still freezing.

I smiled, The serethians had given us a name. L'leftan, in their language, it meant skyfriend. Many of the people on board sorrowful searcher had taken to calling themselves l'leftan, and it was known that almost everyone approved of the name.

I stared out of the main screen, at the approaching surface. We weren't travelling very fast now, gliding slowly downwards, our retro thrusters enough to slow our descent. I pushed several buttons on the nav console, and felt the rumble as the wings folded into landing position. angling towards eachother, out of their usual flat X shape, and becoming parallel with the central line of the ship, the engine pods of each wing meeting it's counterpart.

With a thump, Sorrowful searcher descended into the lower atmosphere. Switching to underside view cameras, i saw fields and mountains, vast oceans laid out before me. Three small atmospheric aircraft flew past us, looping back and forth around us, trying to escort us. The design of their jet engines meant that they had to continue to move, while sorrowful searcher could hover. I pitched sorrowful searcher to the left, and saw the flashing lights of a landing strip, large enough for the immense colony ship.

I guided sorrowful searched down to landing, and felt the bump as the landing gear made contact.

Sorrowful searcher had landed
