Chapter 11

For the next few days I continued to wake up with morning sickness.He would help me with everything I needed to do. It was kinda funny though I was used to being by myself for a long time, I felt like he was treating me like a oversized baby.As we ate breakfast one morning we had a long talk about everything to sort out."I told my boss I was pregnant and I thought she was going to demote me into a different part of the nursing home but instead she promoted me in the office so I won't be around any chemicals and since some of the elderly patients are violent she thought it was best anyway. Plus I've been working there for 5 years and this was the first time I took a vacation so she decided it was about time I climbed up the ladder a bit." He looked up and smiled and took a deep breath."Good, I was worried about that. I know your job would have been too hard for you to go through especially because your morning sickness hasn't died down at all." After we ate we decided to go to my mom's house ,she was going to cook and invited some family over to introduce him to. When we arrived of course she hugged me like she usually does and even gave him one."So I just want to know are you planning on getting married any time soon." my mom said as we walked towards the kitchen.We had talked about it but we didn't exactly make plans for it.We didn't even plan on having a baby.As I was going to explain that he cut me off"Yes, we are going to get married. We have talked about it but I want to do it now not later,she wants to wait." I looked towards him wanting to curse at him for telling her and my mom turned to me."Don't you think you should marry him,He said he wants it now why don't you want to?" I felt so irritated but I just looked at her." Look mom I don't want to get married to him just because we're having a baby that doesn't feel right to me. Plus I haven't even met his parents yet." He started laughing and my mom grabbed my hands." About that um... Me and your father met them already." He started laughing even louder as he seen the shocked face I made."How? When? Chang, I swore you said your parents are in Korea." When i asked he kept Laughing." I did but I never said they lived there. Your mom asked about them after we told her you we're really pregnant and they came here and I had a meeting with your parents and my parents and I told them you we're pregnant. They got along so well but they can't wait to meet you now. But there's one thing." As I listened still in shock as to how they even had time for this." Whats the other thing you haven't told me?" I  asked as him and mom kept laughing at my reaction."They all agreed that they want us married before the baby comes before they completely approve.Also so that it won't effect my business if anyone found out." I completely freaked out and got nauseous.I ran to the bathroom so fast and they followed behind me. As they held my hair in the bathroom they both said there was more they had to tell me."They are coming today to meet you.They also wanted to get to know your family better too." I continued to vomit from so much nervousness I was feeling. When I finished I freshened myself up and grabbed something cold to drink. As I walked to the dining room I spotted his parents from a distance." Is that them sitting there?" I whispered to him as we kept walking toward them and he nodded. I greeted them to show my respect and we all sat at the table to talk before we all started to enjoy the things my mom had planned for us to do.His parents and mine talked to each other as if they had been friends for years and I barely was able to talk. As the time went on his mother seemed to really actually like me and she pulled me aside to talk."You know I was kind of dissapointed that my son is having a baby before marriage,but I can honestly say I'm happy that your together.I haven't seen him this happy in a long time and I know its because of you and I would hope that you too get married before the baby comes." I started to tear up a bit and agreed to what she wanted and the gave me a hug. We went back to everyone in the dining room and I sat next to him and he held my hand."So what did you two talk about? She didn't yell at you or anything right?" I smiled and then started to laugh a bit." No it wasn't like that all she just told me a few things that changed my mind about something." He smiled but looked curious to what I was talking about.As we all did a few fun things I started getting a phone call from my doctor. I walked away from the noise to talk and the doctor started to talk." I was calling to inform you that you are actually farther along than you think.Are you aware that the birth control you take can still be un-affective sometimes due to the medicine not traveling through your body enough?" I knew that but I still was confused."So how far along am I?" I asked." You seem to be about 8(equal to 2 months) weeks now so that means you have to come in tommorow instead of next week for your ultrasound.Its best we do it now so that we can check the fetus." I scheduled the appointment and hung up the phone. I sat there and thought about what the doctor said and what he said. Since Im 2 months that meant when we met the month before he had already gotten me pregnant.I wouldn't had known since the birth control kept me from having my period. I went and pulled him into a different room." There's something I need to tell you, I'm further than I thought." He looked at me as if he wasn't supposed at all." Remember when you took the test and I said that you had gotten sick before then too.I had my suspicion but I thought that since you we're on birth control you weren't and then you had got the phone call from the doctor." I thought about what he said but at that time I didn't feel pregnant at all and I wasn't thinking about it either. He started laughing at me because he knew his point had been made finally. I started getting hungry so I went in the kitchen with my mom and she passed me a piece of meat to taste. I felt like I was starving and I started grabbing more when she left the kitchen to give everyone their food. He snuck up and started hugging me from behind" So is it good?" He asked teasing me and started to rub my stomach."Oh yeah I noticed that your gaining weight. I know you tried to hide it but I noticed you threw some pants away.Why didnt you say anything?" I kept eating and put my head down."I didn't say anything because I didn't think you'd notice but it seems like you notice every damn thing before I do." He laughed and kissed my cheek." Its not a bad thing so why try to hide it? Look tommorow we'll go get some new clothes for you to wear that'll be more comfortable for you." Just then I realized I forgot to tell him about the ultrasound."Oh yeah the doctor wants to run some more tests so we have to go in the morning." He agreed and we went and enjoyed the rest of the evening with our family and when it got late we went back home.
