Simeneon sat on a rock was feeling cold and uncomfortable, but it was the most incredible sensation she had ever felt. Her body was incredibly sore, but she was alive, and that was more than most of the others through this adventure could say. After the initial hug attack from both Fin and the doctor unwilling to let her go she found the rock and sat staring at the small group of her friends, sorry that's not correct, her family.
Her smile was weak, but she felt strong and filled with love she never thought she would ever feel again. Her eyes heavy from weariness suddenly opened wide as if she was seeing a ghost the first time. Another car had just pulled up behind the ones caring the doctor and Fin when another figure stepped from the passenger side. Simeneon felt her head starting to spin as she rose from the rock and started walking on clumsy legs to the figure staring at her and smiling.
"Shawn?" she asked weakly.
Shawn, now dressed in fatigues to match the others in the small tactical group she recognized as Mr. Guiles crew slowly stepped from behind the car and began making his way over to her smiling.
Simeneon, on the other hand, was not smiling now, her face had changed from indignation to surprise to relief, and tears she never realized she possessed poured down her dirty cheeks in rivulets. Her stride started as a slow walk and soon to a heavily limped jog.
Shawn saw the pain she was in and rushed back towards her as they collided in a hug that others standing around would have thought was the connection between two lovers. Sometimes that linking can be even stronger between friends that have gone through something together that transcends time and space.
"But how?" She said as the two broke apart slightly. "You were-"
"-Dead, yes I know, I was there remember." He laughed, a warm, full-bodied laugh that left her smiling as well.
"But-"
He interrupted her again, "The Soul Shadow brought me back, there were things I needed to do."
Simeneon looked around him to the car again. "-And Marlanda?"
Shawn's face changed and Simeneon even though in bad shape picked up on the vibes allowing her demeanor to change.
"It seems she would much rather change tactics and become part of Heldom's clan then be with us another minute." He scoffed.
"I'm so sorry, "she said as they broke apart.
"She made her choice, and I mine." He gestured to the camouflage clothes he was wearing. "Seems Mr. Guile thinks I have what it takes to be part of his crew."
"That's great; you'll be working for Aldernone?" She patted his arm smiling.
"That's not all that correct," He said as the smile returned. "It seems Mr. Guile has decided it would be more beneficial for him to become part of the Brothers of the Light. You're going to be seeing so much more of us than you can handle in the future."
"That's great, but whatever you do don't get in my way." She laughed.
They hugged one last time as Simeneon moved back to the main group. She was almost dead on her feet, but there were things that had to get done. She moved back to the rock as more and more well-wishers strode over to her to show their sentiments, that part was almost as tiring as the disaster on the dirigible.
She thought back to the dirigible as she peered around looking for a creature she owed her life too. When she turned another rock again behind her held the most precious sight she had ever seen. There perched on another smooth rock stood Ra, the bird who had become her protector, a symbol of what the fight was all about and the one creature who knew the who torments.
