Ding! Ding!
You looked over at your phone, which lit up with a new message from Nick.
Hey! So I was thinking, since you are going home on Monday, we should do something this weekend.
You knew some people didn't like to respond so quickly, but you couldn't help it. You sent back:
Definitely! I am doing something with Kylie and Maddie on Sunday...what about Saturday night? <3
Alright! I'll plan something special ;)
Ok! Can't wait!
You woke up the next morning to another message from Nick.
Ok so, tonight, you, me, fancy clothes, dinner at one of the best restaurants in Chicago. Sound good? I'll pick you up at 6. <3
You responded:
Sounds perfect Nick! Can't wait!! <3 <3
You lied in bed smiling to yourself. You loved how now, almost every text you and Nick sent ended with a heart emoji. You loved how your relationship was going, and you couldn't imagine not being a car ride away from him. It was going to be so hard to fly back to Boston and leave him in Chicago.
As much as you didn't want to emerge from your warm cocoon, thinking about tonight with Nick was enough to motivate you to get out of bed.
It seemed like you went out to buy a new outfit for every date with Nick, but you hadn't packed that many good options for clothes. Once again, the day would be spent shopping for a cute dress with Maddie and Kylie.
As much as you would love to shop all day with your girls, you had to get back and get ready for later that night. You had picked a cute little black dress.
The rest of the day went by fast, and soon Maddie and Kylie were putting final touches on your look when you saw Nick's car pull up.
No matter how many times you asked, he insisted on keeping the location of the date a secret.
Eventually you gave up on guessing and said, "As long as I'm with you, everything will be perfect."
He took his eyes off the road to look into yours. He smiled in a way that suggested he felt the same.
After driving for a little longer, you and Nick arrived at the restaurant. You looked at the sign as you walked in and saw that it was Catch 35.
"Nick! You brought me to Catch 35?" you asked. "Do you know how expensive it is?"
"The best restaurant for the best person" he said with a smile.
He was so cheesy, but you loved it.
You had a really nice dinner with Nick. The food was amazing, and he was too. It was another great night, but it wasn't over yet.
Once you got into his car, Nick started driving in the opposite way from Maddie's apartment and even his.
"Nick, where are you going?" you asked.
"It's a surprise" he responded.
"No!" you playfully groaned. "Not another one!"
He laughed and smirked.
A few minutes later, the car slowed down in front of Rush Hospital, which was where Nick's show was filmed.
"Why are we here?" you questioned.
"You'll see. Just trust me" he said with a smirk.
The two of you walked, holding hands, into the lobby of the building and then into an elevator.
