Curiosity Didn't Kill This Cat

~Part 17: Next?~

It's been a little over a year since I've been working here at DeSouza Inc. A lot has happened since Renzo and I became official. I decided that every semester I'd donate a nice sum of money to the Caribbean Students Association. I know how expensive school can be.

Abena decided to take the open position at the University here on the condition that the African Student Association would get more funding and opportunities in campus. She was a well know individual and she was using that to her advantage. The Women's Studies Major and Department expended quickly and the President couldn't be happier.

Amanda realized that she had a really good business sense, but was not cut out for heavy corporate work. She was inspired by Abena and decided to take the consulting position at one of the best private schools in the state and she's teaching College Level International Finance there too. Who would have thought he had a teaching bone?

Sandra on the other hand took the open position here at DeSouza Inc. It only took her a few months to rise to the top of the Secretarial Department after Mrs. Hepton retired. Of course she was met with heat but she took it professionally and petty like the sassy lady that she is. You couldn't deny that she was efficient and effective. She worked out a tier system to keep all the receptionist, secretaries and even the assistants and personal assistants running smoothly regardless of where they were. Let's just say the Managers for the different departments loved it.

Teva got over her fear with Abena's help and got her surgery. She said it isn't perfect but it makes her feel like more of a woman than she ever was. She even speaks against female genital mutilation and shares her experience with girls who are considering genital reconstruction surgery. She has this new found confidence. Who would have thought that all this could have happened from fixed something that you are born with? She's still a virgin, but she isn't short of guys asking her out. Abena says she's very proud of her.

Antonio was slowly but surely giving up his ways. He met Abena once and fell in love. On their first date he realized that she was not one to be messed with and he has given up sex to be with the Virgin Mary Abena. I really didn't think he could last a month but his mother says he's very serious about her since she was the first women to knock some sense into him aside from her.

And what can I say about the lovely and sweet Athena? Her and her husband who I now know as Frank or currently on a cruise celebrating their tenth wedding anniversary. Renzo and Tony felt they needed to relax and live out their golden years however they say fit. So whatever mama wanted, mama got.

How can I for the reason for my curiosity: Jason. After the baby was born, he looked nothing like Jason. Jason was trying to play Renzo but got played instead. After she got her debt written off, she moved on with the real baby's father. Jason was crushed and came to me to talk about it. Oh the irony. It took him a while to get over it. But you know what they say: They best way to get over someone is to get under another. And that's what he did. His boyfriend is absolute stunning. He's owns a construction company and even encouraged Jason to go back to college and he's majoring in Education. I must say I'm proud of him.

As for me, I'm currently holding my toilet like my life depends on it. I moved in with Renzo a few weeks ago after he sexed me up to agree, and left my penthouse to Abena and Teva. I do believe I caught a nasty case of the flu, but I hate being sick. I called Sandra to tell her I was either going to be late or not come in at all because I left like crap. I swear she let the entire team know that we were one short before I even hung up the phone. That's how good her system worked.

I felt horrible. Just I was dragging myself back to bed there was a loud banging on the door. "For Christ's Sake..." I thought as I opened the door. There was Abena with Teva and Amanda in tow holding a shopping back.

"I picked up every brand that was on the shelf, and I had Teva schedule an appointment with Sandra's sister just to be sure," she said tossing out the contents of the bag on the table.

My eyes shot open. "Oh hell no! I am not pregnant. I have in an implant that's good for three..." I said training off.

"Exactly!" Abena shouted. "You've been in such bliss you totally forgot!"

"Don't they call you as a reminder for these things?" I asked franticly.

Teva came from the kitchen with a bottle of water. "Drink up."

Amanda was on her phone. "I got Sandra. So we're waiting!"

"Really?" was all I could say as I went to the bathroom. "Fuck my fucking life..." I thought slamming the bathroom door.
