Chapter 10

Grays POV
We were walking to the basket ball court and we were all joking around and having a good time. Gajeel accompanied Levy again because she was so short so she couldn't walk as fast as we could. Then suddenly I heard a yelp from behind me. Gajeel was lifting Levy onto his shoulders.

"Gajeel! What are you doing?!" She yelled. "Put me down please!" She pleaded. Then she started to get a little teary eyed and her breathing was ragged.

"Hey! Put her down please!" Lucy yelled. Gajeel just gave a confused look and looked up at Levy who looked like she had just witnessed death. He quickly took her off his shoulders and held her bridal style. I chuckled and then I heard someone behind me.

"Gray...do you think this is funny?" I turned around to see Juvia behind me. She was the one that said that.

"No I just though it was funny how Gajeel sort of panicked." I replied. She nodded in understanding and I looked back over at Levy who looked a little more content in the position she was in, but still uncomfortable.

She looked like she might just be tolerating it because she was a little slower than everyone else. Even Wendy and Romeo looked like they might break a sweat trying to walk with us. They were able to keep up though.

Levy and Gajeel were now caught up with the group and Gajeel was carrying Levy on his back. She looked a little more comfortable this way. We continued walking towards the basket ball court.

While we were walking I noticed Juvia had a full water bottle up to her mouth. But she downed like 4 when we were playing volleyball. Where does she keep all of her water. Then I heard the crumpling of a water bottle and I looked over to Juvia who was crushing the water bottle.

I looked at her in shock. She finished that within like...20 seconds. She put the water bottle in a near by trash can and walked onto the court. That's when I realized we were here.

I followed the group onto the court and watched Natsu grab a basket ball excitedly. He then ran over to us and started to talk.

"Alright here are the teams-" he was cut off by Erza.

"There will be a boys and a girls team. Simple." She said and with that she walked off with the girls leaving Natsu dumbfounded. Then he smiled and walked over to us spinning the basket ball in his finger.

"Alright! Let's set positions!" He said. Romeo and I were guards, Laxus and Gajeel were posts, and Natsu was point guard. Jellal had offered to sit out the first game.

On the girls side, Lucy and Juvia were the posts, Wendy and Levy were the giards, and Erza was point guard while Mira was sitting on the bench behind them. The girls got to start with the ball since Romeo insisted we give it to them to start with.

Natsu and Erza started with a jump ball. Jellal stepped in and threw the ball up before "reffing" our game. Erza was able to tip the ball over her head and over to Wendy and she carried it down to our court.

Romeo ran up and blocked her so she passed it to Levy who was wide open. Way to go me. I thought as Levy carried the ball closer to the net. If I had been guarding her I probably would've had the ball.

She got to the net and got ready to shoot but I was there so she pivoted and passed the ball to Erza who got the ball and threw it from the free throw line. The ball made it into the net. They made the first point. Great.

We had the ball now. I went off the court and gave the ball to Natsu and then made my way to Levy's position and guarded her.

Natsu came down to half court and inspected all of the players before crossing and running to his right and passing the ball to Laxus. Laxus threw the ball and overhead passed it to Gajeel who ran up to the net and made a layup. We made 2 points. That's one more than they have.

The girls had the ball now. Erza carried the ball down the court while the girls were guarding us. As soon as Erza crossed the half court line I tried to make my way around Levy but that failed. She's pretty quick. No wonder she's a guard.

I tried to get around her but she was always in front of me no matter what I did. She soon got the ball but before I could knock it out of her hands, she moved away and carried it down the court. Then she passed it to Juvia that was closest to the net.

Great. She's open. I thought to myself as the ball made its way towards Juvia. Before the ball landed in her hands, Gajeel grabbed it and started making his way down to the other basket. He was pretty fast so he made it there quick, but Erza was just as fast so when he went to shoot, her hand was in front of the ball.

She knocked it away and turned around to grab the ball just before it went out of bounds and started to carry the ball down the court. Natsu then stole the ball from Erza, and dribbled the ball to the net, then made a layup. We just made 2 more points.

It was the girls ball again. Erza bounced the ball down to the half court line once again, then crossed and made her way towards the net. She got as close as she could before passing the ball to Levy and she made a layup. Now they have three points.

That game went on and Jellal switched out for Romeo around half of the game. Mira switched for Erza around the same time. When we ended the game, it was 25 to 35. Not bad, we won by 10 points. I definitely didn't expect them to make that many points though. I thought they would make 10 at the least.

We were all sweaty and Juvia supplied us all with water during and after the game. After we finished with our sports we went to a smoothie bar and we all got drinks and talked for a little while.

I learned that Juvia really loves water and surfing, no wonder she always had water with her. Erza likes sword fighting, Levy likes books, Mira likes bar tending, Lucy likes the Zodiac signs, and Wendy likes being outside. We all got to know each other more. Us guys shared memories of our past, but when we brought it up to the girls, they just went quiet.

We decided not to push the situation and talked about other things while walking around and hanging out. After that day I felt like I had known them my whole life. Except for there pasts.

I wonder what happened to them to make them so upset about their past? I thought to myself while walking back to the guys cabins with the others.
